Co-favorite, this 4yo scratch bred has won stakes on dirt and turf.  Very versatile as record shows, he is a deep closer and will need for the pace to be fast in this short field.  He will probably get a decent pace as his counterpart needs to be up front.  We’ll be looking to see him coming into the viewing screen late.

When will this old guy hit the wall?  Who knows he just keeps winning and winning by just what it takes to do that.  Nothing more, and nothing less.  He probably will have some problems here, but not many.  There are probably 2-3 horses at least as good as he, and fresher.  I really have to think he’s gutted at the present time, although I wouldn’t mind eating those words.  Still has the #4 spot to himself no matter what happens here.

Will need a big breakfast here to take top spot.  Another scratch bred that has had one stakes win at the beginning of the year.  Certainly has the stamina to run the distance, but doesn’t have the class to do it fast enough to beat the top three here.  Should contest pace for a period of time.  A go or two on dirt shouldn’t hurt and may be beneficial.

Knows how to win and very versatile running style.  Gets top jock which adds to flavor.  Started career on dirt, but succeeded on turf.  #17 ranked and has solid blood for this event.  Should contest the pace, and be very sharp off of last effort.  Nice overlay.

#12 in division on turf and #24 on dirt.  Very impressive record on both surfaces and co-favorite here.  Last two probably should be swept under the carpet as he is sharp as a razor and looking to bust out here.  Should snatch the lead and defy anyone to take it from him.  He should be very militant in this.

Former claimer doing very well lately.  Has managed to resurrect career by going back to the grass and impressing trainer with his first 100 SP.  There’s no telling what an improving animal like this is capable of, but I have to doubt he has the class to take all here.  Maybe due for a bounce of sorts, however also may surprise.
