Ladies Night Out

(SP)Wyoming- Up this weekend the main event will be a nice long jaunt on the grass in honor of a nine time turf winning mare. Also on tap, the NWRC will be running their triple crown in the nightcap. The course is well groomed and the weather should be perfect for both of these races. The main event will be the third running of the $45,000 English Runner Stakes. Six ladies aged four to eight have entered for the two mile turf run. It is set to see if the winner will follow tradition and win with a 94 speed or strike out for fame of their own. The night cap will be a $75,000 stakes covering nine furlongs in the dirt for sophomores, and has nine competitors. First off we will visit our balanced ladies of the main event and then briefly touch on the NRWC race.

It Takes Two entered by iant. This mare comes in being very consistent on both surfaces, although having more success in the grass. This pace setter is still looking for her first stakes win, but just may be on the wrong surface to achieve it here. She does have an advantage with the hot jockey in John Dawg in the irons.

Nerf Herder entered by fatflab. This light grey mare comes in hitting the board seven out of her last eight stakes dances. The stalker has shown good form and posted some nice speeds along the way. Since returning states side she has been struggling but looks break out here.

Nexis Rainbow entered by zambaygo. This elder mare comes in running very solid races if not inspiring. The mid packer has been having trouble completing the race in good form since the middle of last year. She has the talent but may no longer have the heart. Jockey Stan Boyd has been on a roll this season and could change that on Saturday.

Our Jacks entered by karen. Here we have a chestnut colored grand old lady making her first appearance in Wyoming. The pace setter comes in off a stakes win and is one of the early favorites. She has top jockey Jesse Sands in the irons to here advantage.

Zippy Da Do Da entered by sloma. This mare comes in as the other early favorite and is looking to redeem herself for her last outing. This closer has the speed and ability, but is a little inconsistent at times. After being forced to run on an off track last time out she is ready to rebound with her first stakes win.

Nexcenica entered by dreamscity. This chestnut mare rounds out our field of well balanced ladies. The stalker comes in fresh off her first stakes win is looking to continue on the tradition here. She has shown the ability and now it is up to her to show she belongs in this company.

It has often happened that the NWRC brings races to this track with the competition being a little suspect. This time the race has a few legitimate contenders for high end allowance races and low end stakes races. The favorite coming into the NWRC Triple Crown is Seyonne entered by feedbucket. Why she is favored is a slight mystery as she is a great grass runner but abysmal on the dirt. She may do well but that leaves it open for the dirt runner to take the win. Brabatry entered by brabant and Elusive Air entered by pointblank are two that look to be competing for the win. With Elusive Air getting a slight advantage with top jockey Jesse Sands in the irons. Although Stormin‘ Magpie entered by phantom could be hanging around if it is not to long for her with the help of wily veteran Vince Gannon in the irons.
