Kings of the Sim Part 3 – Foal Crops Explode
In the first two parts of this series we examined the leading sires in the sim based on the 2011-2015 foal crops. One of the more interesting aspects of this examination is how often a sire is used and how the number of foals a sire has is directly related to his ranking. The number of foals produced by major sires has risen significantly since the cap on the number of foals per year has been lifted. The top twenty five sires who are still active in the game produced 3253 foals in their 2011 foal crops. The most foals a sire produced that year was 150 sired by Sea the Stars; the least went to More Than Ready who sired only 112 foals. In 2012 the total number of foals sired by our select group of stallions was 2814; in 2013 it was 4210; 2014 4526; 2015 4817. To see which sires are the most popular I took the sires who appeared on at least three foal crop sire lists and divided the total number of foals by the number of crops. The most popular sires are as follows:
