Ability overload in the Breeders’ Bowl Juvenile Turf
A full field of 14 lines up in one of the hottest 2yo fields seen in years!
DARK AINT MAJESTI – 16/1
Trainer – Lightng112
6-2:2:0 $229,395
Sired by Drosselmeyer out of the Allowance winning Majestic Warrior mare Lyght Emblemz.
2 runs back ran a career best #91 to place 2nd beaten a half-length in the G2 Champagne Mile and then stamped his authority last start coming from off the pace to win by a head in the G3 Looking Forward Stakes.
Steps up to the elite level here and looks to be a few lengths off these.
DUBALAAL – 7/1
Trainer – Nycowboybarn
8-7:1:0 $1,219,220
2yo scr bred son of Makfi who has taken all before him prior to last start.
2 runs back won the G1 The More Nay over 6f coming from midfield and last time blotted the perfect record by running 2nd beaten 2 lengths in the G1 HBD Oscar Derby when trying 8f for the first time.
You don’t win your first 7 races by fluke, this colt is the real deal and although he came back to earth last start over the mile he is sure to be in the thick of things here.
SUP BRO – 10/1
Trainer – Nuthouse
5-4:0:1 $1,118,580
2yo scr bred son of the Australian Champion Lonhro.
This high-quality colt is coming off 2 elite level runs and looms as a huge chance in this open field.
2 back he charged home for 2nd in the G1 Equinics 6f sprint after getting way out of the ground and last start he made amends with a devastating turn of foot to win the time honoured G1 Golden Shoe.
Racing pattern all points to the mile being suitable but given he has never raced further than 6f it must be some slight risk. That all being said he is right in this.
PAUNCHI WHITE – 10/1
Trainer – Bodgit
6-3:2:1 $623,580
This son of Xtension out of a graded placed Forestry mare looms as a real player in this race.
2 starts back he dropped back to 6f and finished off the race strongly running 2nd in the G1 The More Nay and last time out accounted for a very smart field, winning the G1 HBD Oscar Derby over 8f.
His last start effort against the best 2yo’s in the sim signal that he is a huge chance of taking this out and the 8f seems his best trip.
EXCEEDING INFINITY – 14/1
Trainer – Super16
6-2:1:1 $181,250
A stoutly bred colt by Exceed and Excel from the Grade 2 winning mare Equivocations (by Dynaformer) – making him a half-brother to 3 other graded winners.
Finished 6th beaten 2 lengths 2 back in the G3 The A Bomb after getting well back in the field and last start made solid ground to run 3rd beaten 3 & ¼ lengths in the G1 HBD Oscar.
Will get back and is crying out for more ground. Class may be against him today but his family is littered with quality horses and if they go quick enough up front he may be the one closing late.
YALLMUSTHAVEFORGOT – 13/1
Trainer – Nofear
5-1:3:1 $144,260
This colt by Sixties Icon out of the G1 winning A.P Indy mare Dangerous Waters looms as a smokey in today’s field.
Only 2 starts back he was winning a maiden in Ire and was pushed into the deep end the following start where he ran out of his skin to finish 2nd in the G2 The Royal Dodge.
His time and sectionals last start are as good as anyone in this race but it does seem another big rise in class.
Not out of it but must improve again to be in the finish.
OASIS MAMBO – 9/1
Trainer – Ddtsbales
4-3:1:0 $373,720
A beautiful scratch bred son of Oasis Dream who has taken all before him so far.
Last 2 starts have been eye catching in winning the G3 Golden Handgrenade and last start blowing away a smart field to win the G2 The Royal Dodge running a sizzling #95.
Bold on pace runner who ticks all the boxes for this race. Will be up front and is no doubt going to look the winner turning for home.
UNRESTRAINED CHAOS – 12/1
Trainer – Super22
5-3:1:0 $177,940
This 2yo colt by Point of Entry is form one of the most exciting mares in the game – The Libertine (by Giant’s Causeway) who has had 5 runners for 4 graded winners and a listed winner.
Ran a bold race 2 back winning the G3 Premie Champion Stakes before last start blotting the copy book and finishing well back in the G2 The Bedford Stakes.
If you forget his last start failure, he is right in this. The issue may be that this field is stacked with talent and he will need a career best effort to be a chance.
SI SE QUIERE – 7/1
Trainer – Desimster3
4-2:1:0 $146,490
A striking 2yo son of the champion Frankel who hails from a mare who has produced multiple graded class horses in her short stud career.
2 starts back he finished strongly in the G1 The More Nay after settling midfield and then last start made a mid race move to push forward in the G2 The Bedford Stakes and fought it right out to only go down a length.
Is bred to want further and looks to me to be a real 3yo type, but if they go hard enough and the mile becomes a staying test he might just out grind them.
PRINCE OF TERROR – 8/1
Trainer – Waremblem6
4-3:1:0 $300,115
This 2yo colt by Dubawi is the first foal from the G3 winning mare Hearts of Iron (by A.P Indy) and goes off as equal 2nd favourite here, and looks the logical leader in the race.
2 runs back he romped in an Allowance before jumping to the front in the 8F G2 Knick Knack Juvenile last time out and simply gave nothing a chance leading from start to finish and destroying some quality rivals in the process.
Big jump in class but is my pick for the race and if he gets an easy enough lead he will be winning. All eyes will be on his start and if he is in front 2F in then good luck chasing him down.
FISHOF THE NILE – 12/1
Trainer – Avocado
6-3:1:1 $520,440
This son of Pioneerof The Nile is a tricky customer who is bred to handle dirt but seemingly loves turf.
Looms as the real query runner in this race coming off a short let up last start where he ran a cracking 2nd in the G1 The Golden Shoe coming from midfield and being touched out on the line by Sup Bro.
His only start over the mile resulted in a handy 3rd place in the G2 The Champion Mile and in this field is one of the outsiders.
If he has improved on his G1 placing last start over 6F then form wise he is right in this. Too many question marks to tip him but could easily be in the finish.
CRIMSON’S STAR – 10/1
Trainer – jockeymax
5-2:3:0 $399,260
This 2yo son of Sea the Stars comes from a long line of champion sim runners.
His mother the G1 winning mare Crimson Pirate (by Kingmambo) is in the hall of fame as is his half-brother Mambo Wildcat.
Interesting runner who has ran 1st and 2nd in his last 2 outings both in G2 company.
2 back he sat on the pace and won going away in a smart time and then last start the jockey took hold of him and snagged back to worse than midfield then flashed home late to run 2nd.
Is right in the mix here going on recent form and it will be interesting to see jockey tactics in a race that seems very even.
CENTURY SAIL – 12/1
Trainer – Somebozo3
6-4:0:2 $857,500
This ripping 2yo son of Giant’s Causeway is from the maiden claimer mare Poetic Steal (By Cape Cross)
Very speedy customer who has had all 6 starts at 6f or less and ran a bold race last start in the G1 The Golden Shoe to finish 3rd beaten less than 2 lengths.
Is proven in this class being a G1 winner but the big query is on the 8F and if he will see it out.
I doubt he can win this, but can certainly make it an interesting race putting the pressure on up front and making them all work.
DREAMO – 8/1
Trainer – Squash
3-1:1:0 $330,000
This beautifully bred son of Oasis Dream is from the G1 winning mare Screamo (By Giant’s Causeway) captured the attention of the racing world last start with his explosive win in the G2 The Bedford Stakes coming from miles off them to fly home late and win going away in close to the best time for any 2yo this season.
Has a lot going for him and looks to be a potential superstar going off his last start G2 win at what was only his 3rd career start – which weirdly have all be in G2 company (even his first start!)
Is the least experienced runner in this field but what he lacks in experience he makes up for in ability. Is absolutely in this race and is expected to be the one mowing them all down late.
Is my 2nd pick for the race and could easily be next year’s best 3yo.
In summary, this field is loaded with talent and I expect many runners to go on and stamp themselves as super stars in coming years.
The race itself is very even and with so many horses on the rise it is tough to rule any runner out.
I am however going with Prince of Terror who should be on speed, kick and prove tough to run past. The obvious immediate threat is the spruik horse Dreamo who will be powering home late and for 3rd I think Sup Bro can run a cracker and will be tearing home with Dreamo from well back.
Good luck to all the trainers involved and regardless of which way it goes it’s quite clear every runner has a real future – chances are next year’s BB Mile Turf winner is most likely in this field.

Holy crap. Liam wrote an article. Nice job.
Ha! Miracles can happen!
Great job Liam! I love DUBALAAL he wake up too late on his last outing. He will get the job done here.
Good luck mate
Smashin article Liam. Concise, precise and I completely concur with your summary.
Thanks for the feedback! first article in years and i have run with the typical aussie form-guide format.
Hope your prediction comes true, front runners are always Tums inducing to watch. Will I hit a brick wall at the 4f mark or stretch out and hold off the late chargers? Looking forward to the race and hoping the Prince is fast fast fast!
Go you good thing!
WOW! The hot race king can write, too! Who knew?
