2 | MOSTLY IN BROWN( | 8/1 |
Long shot scratch bred by Theatrical. This filly is just starting out a career that could produce very well for trainer. She looks to be over matched in this, but not for lack of talent. Race appears to be too short for her at present. She has the blood to run forever and probably needs between 12-16f to produce her best. SP’s should increase with maturity.
3 | TINTORETTA( | 5/2 |
5yo scratch bred mare by Galileo that comes into this with a nice allowance victory after a rest period. Stalker type that fits well here. Loves the distance and is red hot at present. With a blistering pace almost guaranteed, this mare should be close enough to pounce on the leaders. Jock Silver is having a breakout year and should add to his stats.
4 | LOST CAROL | 7/2 |
4yo filly out of a “G” rated mare that didn’t care too much for the grass. She has been through conditions quickly and now sets her eyes on the next step. She’s going for her third straight victory but may have maxed out in her last. We need to be a little cautious as to her present condition. However, she should be able to handle stakes class in the future.
5 | URKO’S HOOLIGAN | 9/1 |
Coming off “needs rest” status. 5yo mare out of a “D” rated mare that probably needs this for a tuner-up. No stranger to the winners circle she prefers longer. Usually likes the front end, but this may be too short for her to utilize that tactic. She should benefit from this toward her next race.
6 | 4/1 |
Another 4yo speedball/stalker that may have the stamina to hold up well here. She certainly will have to go out if she has any chance. Although this is not her best distance, she’s coming off a nice allowance win at a half furlong shorter. In fine form at the moment, questions arise over the added distance. Jockey adds to questions as he is having a tough year to date. Should cash something.
7 | GETTIN’ IT | 5/1 |
Nice record to date on this 4yo scratch bred. As a 3yo she had logged three graded victories. Since turning 4yo trainer has to be frustrated at her lack of effort. Was she a one year wonder or will she again rise to top competition? Ross gets the call and will surely give her the best ride possible. We’re looking for improvement here, but will it be enough? Stay tuned.
Tough call in this. Exacta = 3 w 1,4,7
