9 horses in this weeks Nebraska Stakes race.

Ahh….. Nebraska the Cornhusker state.  Home of the mighty football power house the Nebraska Cornhuskers.  Every Saturday 80,000 plus fans come out to see these boys take on teams like Texas, Baylor, USC, even the small ones like Troy.  This week there is no football game on Saturday though, and there will feature no Cornhusker.  This week there will feature only 9 people on the field.  It will not be at Memorial Stadium either.  This week we have for you The Burnt Dealer Handicap.  That’s right it is horse racing Saturday in Nebraska!  These horses will go a mile and one eighth on firm turf for 40 thousand dollars!!  Lets start you off now with a little something about our horses.  1st in line we have

A. P. LOMOND – This guy is the long shot at 24/1.  He hasn’t ran many tough races, though he is coming off 2 claiming wins in a row.  His last four races have either been in claimers or starters, with SP’s only in the high 80’s and low 90’s.  If you want to bet on this guy look for him to bring it home going down the stretch.  The last time this guy win, placed or showed in an allowance was 7/29/06.  He will be ridden by F. Root.  Root this year has only 31 races, but has an ITM of 25%.  A.P. is a proud horse of cheyenne15, and is Sired by A.P. Million.  Now in line our second horse is

MISCONCEPTION – This boy is looking for his first stakes win ever.  This is his first stakes race ever.  Sitting at 5/1 he has a shot at winning it.  Coming off a 100, 97, and 93 SP in his last 3 races, he looks like one of the favorites.  His owner, simsters7, must be happy with his performances lately.  Sired by Miswaki, he will be ridden by R. Rienstra.  This jock has a 28% ITM and 53 races under his belt.  If betting on this race, this horse looks like it could go either way.  He has done best trying down the stretch, but don’t be surprised if he tries to take the lead right away.  In the number 3 spot we have

PURGATORY CODE- Sitting at 8/1, this guy is looking for his first stakes win ever.  He is the same as Misconception, because he has never raced in a stakes before.  Jock L. Heart will be ridding him with a 35% ITM for this year.  Heart has 187 races under his belt this year and 26 of those are wins.  His owner conman3, has to be happy about his last few performances though.  His last race was an SP of 104.  The two races before that were without doubt very bad races.  Posting only a 92, and 50 in two allowance races.  His odds in his last race were 13.50 and he is 8/1 here.  If betting on this horse look for him to try to bring it home in the stretch.  4th in line he have

CELEBRITY SWAIN- Coming off an allowance 2nd, and a 96 SP this horse will look for its first stakes win ever.  It has ran in stakes before but only managed 1 show and 1 4th place finish.  Owner boldrule99 will get jock W. Walter to ride today.  Walter has 33 races this year with 3 wins and one place.  He has an ITM of 12% and a win percentage of 9%.  If betting on this 9/1 horse, look for him to try to take it in the stretch.  He hasn’t ran a SP in the 100’s for about a year though.  In line now number 5

UNSTINTING – bigmoose has this guy sitting at 8/1, and coming off a 96 SP, 3rd placer in the Plum Elrod stakes.  Sired by Sakhee, this horse is familiar to running in big races.  He has a 6th and two 3rd place finishes in stakes races.  His last five races are very good sitting at 5 races 2-0-2.  Riding Unstinting today will be E. Cotlen.  Cotlen has a pretty nice ITM sitting on the 34% mark.  With 46 races he has 6 wins, 2 places, and 8 shows.  He has earned 81k this year alone.  This horse will likely try for the win in the stretch, but don’t be surprised if he tries to take the lead right out of the gate.  And now your number 6 horse is

HARRISON‘S CLOCKS – tulloch has to love this guy.  Sired by Dynaformer, he is coming off a stakes place and a stakes show.  Also his last 5 races look like this 2-2-1.  He is sitting in at 9/2, and I think I would give this guy my bet.  His jock is very good also sitting on a 43% ITM.  Out of 204 races he has won, placed or showed in 88 of them.  He has earned 9 million in his career.  In that 9 million came 689 wins!  I think this guy will take it right out of the gate and lead all the way until the end, where he will get second or third.  Your number 7 horse is

GO FOR ADMIRAL – This boy does not look to bad.  Running SP’s in the high 90’s and 100’s. (not counting his last race)  His owner, gowand4, is very familiar with horses who run like this.  Sired by Dynaformer, he is racing in his first stakes race of his career.  The jock on his back today is not the best jockey out there.  With only 43 races under his belt, he has an ITM of 18%.  Only 22k won this year.  He is sitting at 5/1 what is a nice odd.  I think this horse could do some damage if he runs well enough.  Look for him to try to make an awesome comeback on the stretch, as he has gone from 13th to 4th in an 8.5 furlong race.  Now your number 8 horse

CAT HAWK- Sitting at 7/1, this horse looks like he is in pretty good shape.  Coming off two allowance wins, with SP’s of 96 and 100.  This is only his first stakes race of his career though.  He has a lot of allowance wins, places or shows going into this race.  Owner afta95 will get jockey W. Styler, who has 46 races going into this one.  He does have an ITM of 30% though.  And has earned 40 plus thousand this year.  This horses sire was Cat Creek Slew.  Look for this horse to try and win it on the stretch.  Last but certainly not least we have

BARB’S BACK HOME – This horse is the favorite at 5/2.  Her owner, barbstable, has a nice record with it.  His career is 23-5-6-3.  He is running SP’s in the high 90’s and low 100’s.  This horse is my pick in this race coming off a 3rd and three 2nd place finishes he will be a big bet to win this one.  This horse has won a G1 before and looks like he should have no problem winning this one.  His last race he tried to take the lead right out of the gate but my best bet is he will try and bring it home at the end of the race.  His jock H. Desitter, has a very nice race history.  He has an ITM of 56%, and a winning percentage of 22.4%.  With 51 wins in 228 races this is the perfect pair.

So how do I think they will end up.  9,2,8,7 will be my top four.  The bet is up to you though.  If you go by me make sure your 9 horse gets first.  I have pretty good hopes about that one.  Good luck to all who are racing this weekend in a stakes race, and remember this isn’t football, this is horse racing.  So who will score the touchdown?  That is your decision.
