Spotlight Race of the Day: South Korea Allowance 8/16

4

Now that the flame has been extinguished on the Equinics, it is time to turn the Spotlight back on and return on the journey to hit each race track in the game during the year.  The Spotlight pulls into South Korea and focus is on an allowance race at a distance of a mile.   The race is on the dirt and open to three year olds that are non-winners of four in their lifetime and this one is for the fillies.

1  POY POY  7/2-After exploring the turf surface for a pair of starts earlier this year, she came back to the soil and earned a win by a strong three lengths and was second in her last start coming up short by less than two lengths.   These are her best outcomes on the dirt thus far and looks solid for this race.

2  HUSSONET GIRL  4/1-This lady returns to the mile distance after having a trio of races where she had mediocre results going 7-furlongs and 10-furlongs.  The mile distance is a preferred distance as she has a win and two seconds floating between 8-furlongs to 8.5 furlongs.  Should be ready to show her stuff again.

3  HARD PROSPECTOR  2/1-A quick front runner who has never finished worse than third on the dirt in her 8 races on the surface.  Upon winning twice earlier this year on the dirt she’s had difficulty wiring the field as she’s been run down in her last two tries on the surface and finishing third in both, a fair distance behind too.   As favorite, she is beatable by the late runners.

4  HOPE IMPERIAL  5/2-Dropped into higher end claimers in last and finished second with nice late run.   She put in a very solid run in April, winning at 8.5 furlongs with a 99 speed, however, those speed numbers have been heading in a reverse direction.   Time to change direction is now.

5  POOP D DEW  5/1-Nose dived into cheap claimers in May and was claimed.  New connection quickly earned back claim price with win in mile allowance and a speed burst to 96 when taking out of sprint category.   Speedster could hold onto top positioning in last at 8.5 furlongs tailing off to fifth.  Shortens back to mile and will look to fire off wire job.

6  DANE’S SCAT CAT  9/1-Speed is the concern with this lady as she’s been in mid-80 range in last two and everyone else is in the 90’s.   Has been left rather far behind in last three races after winning an allowance back in April.  Tough task ahead.

Poy Poy  is my top pick in this  one, which looks wide open.  Like her current form and performance.

Poop D Dew has early speed and will take it as far as she can, second choice.

Hard Prospector will battle with second choice for the front end, has tendency to get something.
