WHOKNOWSME(JPN) looks to become the Llama Enforcer

Hello everybody and welcome to a very hot Malaysia for what will be a fantastic days racing, headlined by the Grade 3 Llama Enforcer Stakes to be ran over 7 furlongs on dirt for 3 year olds and is worth $125,000. Today’s race has attracted 12 colts and 1 filly all looking to take the next step on the path to glory. Which of these horses in the next up and coming star? Only time will tell but let’s take a look at the form guide and see if we can find you a winner.

PP 1 131177 TOP NOTCH HERO(KY) tmaria G O’Donnell 11/1
First time in stakes competition for this DISTORTED HUMOR x CAPOTE x CURE THE BLUES colt who is coming off a disappointing run in an 8f allowance, today he is back in distance and his trainer will be hoping he can get back to the 88 sp he ran over 6.5 furlongs 2 starts back. The horse’s chances look to be improved with O’Donnell taking the ride as he is on fire this season winning 13.2 % compared to his lifetime average of just 8.2%. The big question is will TOP NOTCH HERO(KY) sink or swim in graded company? I’m betting sink. But I have been proven wrong before.
PP 2 113955 E BUDA(KY) chop R Wilhite 8/1
Here is the highest rank horse in the field. This E DUBAI x STORM CAT x TANTHEM tends to be very up and down on his day he can run a 94 sp over 6.5f and win a stakes race but when he is off he can only muster mid 80’s. He looks to me like he needs a lot of rest between races and considering he only raced 3 weeks ago I don’t know weather he has had enough rest to be at his best. That and the fact that he may need to run 100 sp to win this race suggest to me he can’t won but I think he could be up in the top 5 earning some bp’s for his trainer. The big bonus is that the top jockey at Malaysia takes the ride but I don’t even think the magic of R.Wilhite can get E BUDA(KY) to the line in 1st place.
PP 3 132563 RATES(CA) graywolf6 E Hallock 16/1
Here is a horse from left field RATES(CA) BUILT FOR PLEASURE x CAUCASUS x HOLD YOUR PEACE. He has just 1 win to his name a very nice first up maiden victory as a 2yo. Since then he has tackled stakes level twice and finished top 5 on both occasions. However he did the same at allowance level only managing to finish top 3 on 1 occasion and with a highest sp of 88 he will need to improve 10% on his best to have any hope of winning. That and a massive class jump and the fact that jockey hillock is suffering a bad bout of diarrhea. Perhaps if Hillock lights a match to his rear end it may just propel RATES(CA) to victory.
PP 4 96668 DUMANJI(KY) kindone5 M Claus 11/1
Another horse with just the one win, this DUMAANI x HARLAN x LION CAVERN colt was put into a Grade 2 last start by his very hopeful trainer kindone5 and did not do as bad as expected running a 87 sp over 7 furlongs in finishing 8th, you would think this is a slight class drop so you would expect him to do even better again but I still don’t think he is quite there yet. Jockey M.Claus takes the ride and you would be hoping he rides the horse to run a place because if he rides it to win DUMANJI(KY) could end up finishing a long way behind. I expect improvement but I can’t see him winning. I would like to see him come through the classes rather than taking on the big boys.
PP 5 124774 SMELSTON ALERT(SWE) superdog5 I Gunn 12/1
A very interesting horse (DIAGHLYPHARD x BOLD LAD (IRE) x SEMIPALATINSK) who looks to be in ok form. 2 starts back he pulled of a great win in the 6 furlong Jupiter’s Smashes Stakes running a nice sp of 90 before failing last start over the same distance. Superdog has decided to step this horse up to graded level for the first time which to me looks like a move that may prove fruitful, however weather he is quite up to some of the class in this race is another story. Jockey I. Gunn takes the ride but he is not quite living up to his name with a 4.9% winning average this year. My other major concern is weather a horse from Sweden where it is ice cold all the time can acclimatize to such hot weather. I think he is a very nice horse but there are too many things going against it.
PP 6 117510 LITTLE DANZIG(ITY) kindone4 A Taylor 17/1
From the same trainer as DUMANJI(KY) , LITTLE DANZIG(ITY) is a good horse that looks to have been put in races a little over his head. Consistently in the top 5 but just not quite getting the job done I would love to see this come through the grades. Today he gets switched to dirt for the first time since his first 2 runs as a 2yo in which he failed. So the move to grade 3 level concerns me. So does the fact that A. Taylor got the ride he does not even deserve to ride a Shetland pony let alone ride in a Grade 3 race. Watching this horse kindone could be a painful experience. But good luck.
PP 7 130474 FUTURE SPEIGHTS(KY) bravequest P Shelby 7/1
Here is a nice up and coming and very well bred colt (SPEIGHTSTOWN x SEATTLE SLEW x SECRETARIAT ) from the bravequest stable who ran very well last start over 7.5 furlongs improving to run an sp of 95 before that he ran a great sp of 93 over the same distance. Having had a few route races and not quite doing as well it is good to see the horse coming back in distance again. The only problem I can see is the class rise to graded level which will either make or break this colt. 10% for the year jockey P. Shelby takes the ride and I would be looking for him weaving his way through the pack towards the finish.
PP 8 124228 MIKA’S SIS(KY) freddurst D Doughty 15/1
Here is a horse deserving of a chance to win a graded race and the only filly in the field MIKA’S SIS(KY) (DEHERE x FORTY NINER x CHIEFTAIN) has won both her past 2 starts both at stakes level over 7 and 7.5 furlongs respectively. Today she takes on the males for the first time since week 3035 where she failed miserably to finish 14 lengths from the winner. An interesting move by trainer freddurst to match her up against the males again. Even though she has the 3rd best jockey at the track, the very experienced D. Doughty I find it very hard to see her running near 100 sp. Perhaps she should stick to the filly races. But a very nice horse just the same.
PP 9 124352 WHOKNOWSME(JPN) amyg F Foster 7/2
Clear favorite and deserves the tag as WHOKNOWSME(JPN) who has exceptional breeding (FORTY NINER x SECRETARIAT x NIJINSKY II) has just come of a marvelous victory in the Grade 3 Swale stakes running a huge 103 sp. Before that her best sp was only a 92 so to improve 10% at such a high level was phenomenal. The main question is can he keep things going, I know amyg thinks so as does jockey Freddy Foster who was quoted as saying “ this horse is flying in track work, and will run a massive race.” He will be looking to sit on the pace and make a winning break at the 3 furlong pole and try to hold off the swoopers. He is the horse to beat.
PP 10 127090 BURMESE(KY) tamure M Bang 9/1
This light grey colt (BUDDHA x CHEROKEE RUN x KINGMAMBO) out of the tamure stable looks to have finally found the position he likes and that is to lead. Last start he went from wire to wire in the lead and was able to hold off the fast finishing KEEN WEAPON(ENG) to win a non winner of 2 life time allowance over 8 furlongs. Before that he seemed to be shaking his head about and over racing in a disappointing 6th again over 8 furlongs. This seems to have been a problem throughout his career and a very smart ride from D Lakencher may have shown the trainer the way. He must take the lead. Let’s just hope M.Bang who is also in great form this year also does the same. But in saying all that he is way up in class and I just can’t see him winning today.
PP 11 95898 SWORD BREAKER(KY) topicount4 M Byrne 6/1
A Grade 3 winner of the Let’s See What We Have Futurity just 4 starts back SWORD BREAKER(KY) (SEEKING THE GOLD x DANZIG x BLUSHING GROOM(FR)) Has been racing in routes and has not quite been up to the top horses, I believe that coming back to 7 furlongs will turn out to be a great move for topicount who is looking forward to seeing SWORD BREAKER(KY) back in the winner stall. Another top jockey M. Byrne takes the ride and he is on fire as well this season winning 17.6 % of his races. She will get a fair way back in the pack and Lets just hope she gets to the outside to try and run down the favorite. Has a chance.
PP 12 11640 BIODYNAMIC(KY) super11 H O’Connell 8/1
BIODYNAMIC(KY) (DIXIELAND BAND x FORESTRY x ARAZI) from the all conquering super stables dropped back to 6.5 furlongs last start with very impressive results winning the Son Carson Memorial Stakes with a 96 sp. Before that the horse looked like it was trying to head towards the derby but failed to impress over the routes. Although there is an extra half furlong to run this time around I don’t expect that to hinder his performance. Harry O’Connell takes the ride and will need all his wits about him to out sprint the favorite.
PP 13 133534 PASS THE REPELLANT(KY) splitenz P Barnes 23/1
My personal main interest lies with this horse PASS THE REPELLANT(KY) (PIKEPASS x TOUCH GOLD x GATE DANCER) out of the splitenz stables. With only 2 starts under the belt PASS THE REPELLANT(KY) is giving away a hell of a lot of experience rest of the field but what he lacks in experience he makes up for with raw speed. In 2 starts so far he has managed to win his maiden and a stakes race being on the pace on both occasions today he will find the pace very tough indeed and jockey Pat Barnes will have to be at the top of his game. It looks to me like he will have to improve at least another 10% to have a chance of winning but you can never count out a horse that is undefeated. If he can manage to get the lead easy enough from BURMESE(KY) and BIODYNAMIC(KY) He could cause a boil over.

This race could turn out to be very interesting with a number of horses that like to lead PASS THE REPELLANT(KY), BURMESE(KY) and BIODYNAMIC(KY). I just feel the race could be set up for a swooper even though I do expect the favorite WHOKNOWSME(JPN) to win I would not be surprised to see something come over the top. I just have no clue as to which horse it could be.
