Surgeon Tubes makes it four in a row

It also brings his career earnings to the $1,139,208 mark in his thirty three starts. Was not a banner day at the betting window in this one, with the low odds for the field as a whole and the Even odds winner. The winner paid $4.10 $2.50 $2.10 across the board. On the exotics front, there was a $17.50 exacta payout, and $45.10 for the trifecta.
Prized Indy controlled the early pace, shaking off all challenge early. He looked to have a decent cushion, having opened up nearly seven lengths at the half. As he began to relax down the backside though, he found that twice that may still not have been enough. Surgeon Tubes came from nearly twelve lengths out at the half, simply flying past the leader around the ten furlong mark, then simply walking away from the field to grab a spectacular eight and a quarter length victory at the wire. Invierno was also moving up from the back of the back, maintaining pace with the winner until they passed the flagging leader at ten furlongs, but he couldn’t find that second gear that Surgeon Tubes hit, and settled for second. Prized Indy held on for third, thirteen and a quarter out at the wire.
