Tuff Enuff Returns to Action
After more than a 3 month break to recharge, Tuff Enuff returned to action Saturday in an open Stakes in Missouri. New tactics were brought along with him upon his return as Tuff Enuff was hussled to the lead right out of the gate. He galloped along to open up more than 4 lengths before conceding ground to a late closer to win by 1/2 length. It was the 11th win of his career and should get him back on track for an assault on a second straight Breeder’s Bowl Classic title later this season. He earned a 104 speed figure for his time of 2:09 2/5.
Ink Jet was the only runner to make any sizeable headway into the lead down the stretch, closing from deep in the field to fall 1/2 length shy of his first Stakes win. Jeu Wan(ire) tried to hang with the leader early, and while he couldn’t do that he did have enough in the tank to hold on for 3rd place.
