TS1442 Dominates the GSR Cream of the Green
A surprise win by Misy Way lead the way for a dominating performance by TS1442. This reporter thought he would be lucky to get a singly runner into the top 5 of this final event, and boy did he prove me wrong. It wasn’t surprising that Pleasant Mud jumped to the early lead, or that Domestic Strike followed closely behind. The surprising part was that they both held on so well down the stretch, finishing 3rd and 5th respectively. But the shocker of the day came when Misty Way began her stretch drive. She was far back early, dropping to 8th in the 10 horse field. Then she started moving around the far turn. Coming into the stretch she still had 5 runners ahead of her, but that did not last long. She powered past them all and pulled away to win by 2 lengths. She earned a speed figure of 77 for her final time of 1:38 1/5. Dundey’s Midnight Hour(ire) ran almost the same race as the winner, but simply couldn’t handle her down the stretch, finishing 2nd.
Thanks to Keely for hosting this series for GSR and congrats to all those who made the final!
