1horse1

This Power Broker filly has been running just under the stakes levels and made a nice score in her last chasing the field from arrears as she seems to like to do and getting on top in strong fashion while still opening. She has shown steady improvement and is now being geared to strike at the graded level in a large field. I do not wish to count this one out though, but it would be going against my way of thinking making such a jump and especially into the graded. She will be running the 8.f F for the  first time but the distance should be a factor in fact possibly a helpful benefit for her and since she has been running in Kentucky anyhow she should be set to give her best effort here. It just may not be quite enough at this stage for her. She just might be due for a bit of a rest at this point but the year is coming to an end and maybe the adeeprock4 stables want to leave an impression on the the vote getters for future references. Indiana star jockey N Armstrong has the mount.

2horse2
Lightly raced Kamba debut back in July, and pocketed a 77 SP that day , stalking the pace as the favorite and pulling away to win easy one and three quarters cruising. She has since tried her luck twice more winning both with impressive efforts  including The Berry Basket Dirt Juvenile stakes last time out capturing the lead early from the ten hole in a fourteen horse field and never looking back once again making it look easy smoking a 96 SP in the process. The Galileo filly is all that and more and could easily be running prime time but the stop here in the G2 is a smart move by the Plano4  stables giving her one more before going there. A big win here certainly would make her an Oaks consideration I would think for next year. Only question is now, what will happen if she is the one being pressed in the lane ?
S. Blood picks up the ride.

3horse3
Top Kentucky jock J Caves will handle the reigns on Half A Lord who is coming off a disappointment in the G1 Frikazee finishing 13th in a 14 horse field. It is in my opinion as stated earlier sometimes pushing a youngster do excel to fast can hurt the filly more than help her and hopefully this is not the case here. I can understand why they went the route they did when three back they threw her into a G3 event and the outcome was promising as she only faded off late just missing the podium giving her much needed experience at the level and so onward to the G2 Iron Deck where in a strange turn of events, in a fourteen horse field she once again found herself near the top only she managed to stick as fifth place downwards just hung in a real one paced race. IN the G1 Walnut Tree she did not get her way near the top and was schooled moving up in distance and never being a factor fading to mid pack by the end of it all. Seems a possibility is she does not care for the longer distance at this time but she will try her luck once again here and ships in from New York to try her luck. As a side note jockey J Caves was on her last two G1 failures and has the mount again. If things go bad jockeys always get the blame.
4horse4

Steadily improving Animal Kingdom filly will get s bit of an acid test here making a large move based off her last two races where not sizzling but adequate SP times keeps her in this race. Illinois jockey B Orazio has the mount for the first time and will no doubt be looking to improve here hoping for a share of the pie but even more important picking up some valuable experience. Onlycomeoutatnight is coming off a two race winning streak only breaking his maiden in the 56ooo Maiden level and then coming back to win at the 48700 allowance level. She will however notice the difference here. She sticks here in Kentucky and seems  to like the distance on the surface, but she has heavy scheduling in the last few months and might just be tired. I cannot see her here but next year is a new year  for her.

5horse5

This Sepoy filly from the Ritchie Stables has only had six races up to this point and since making the switch from the turf to the dirt had been productive finishing 2nd and then burning off three wins in a row with nice major SP changes in each race. Although she has never raced in this class she has run the speeds to give them a try and although you can never rule anything out I think the experience will be her downfall here. Also the fact that  both her lst two were in lower end Allowance races might just be the  difference as well. Distance and surface are not a problem here and she is shipping in from Washington.

D Zordich in the saddle.

6horse6

Anyone who knows me knows I have a soft spot for So You Think horses, and so I will be watching this little one closely. In the drivers seat will be little known D Foster from Virginia. Graywolf 16 stables has been keeping her busy running 10 races already in her young career and now takes the big step up reversing her trend coming back to the dirt where she has had similar success as the turf never  quite getting there but always there. She did make a nice SP move in her last when stretching out on the turf and this is why I am a bit baffled at the decision to come here but to each there own I guess. I still like her but is she in tough in this one. She ships in from Ireland which can only make it worse for her. Stretching out will be her forte and so patience is a must for this one. I will be watching for sure. in the mean time good luck in this one.

72 furlongs

Stormy Hussie did the worse thing to a stable it could have possibly done when she won the G3 Arizona Shoot Out in just her first try and first in graded company. It is like a bettor winning big money for the first time, once you have done it you think it can be done all the time and believe I know this scenario. With Ohio jockey S Holman taking over the reigns Stormy Hussie will once again try her luck at the level. Since the Arizona Shootout things have not gone well for here. First was the G 2 Stoker Handicap where she could never get near the top against the speed and she was completely demoralized from there  finishing a faltering 8th in a 14 horse field. She subsequently tried a pair of G3’s and showed no improvement at all finishing well back in both cases again never seeing the top. Finally dropping down into the FuFu Mascus Dirt Juvenile stakes she showed some improvement if not on the board than at least in the SP  column giving her hope where no hope was. the Acaragua12 stables will try her luck once again in this one but she will have a tough seeing the top again as there is much speed and possibly a good rest is in the near future for her.

8horse8

Coming in from Kansas where in her last she was all game winning the Homecoming Dance Stakes in a 97 SP and certainly will make her one of the favorites here in this race. Kentucky jockey T Mauricio has been called upon to steer the mount, One Iron Rocket likes to come from off the pace and should have plenty to run at here and I am pretty sure in the mix at the end. Padrebri8 Stables have nurtured this one at a nice easy pace and it is starting to pay dividends. She seems to handle the surface just fine and the extra half furlong certainly should not be a problem. Definitely part of your exactors.

9horse9

Tapit’s Lady has been on a real roll lately showing signs of improvement each and every time out and it showed when two back she tried stakes company for the first time in the Birds Of Paradise Dirt Juvenile and just missed coming from well off the pace and perhaps she deserved better that day but the front runner Catnap Cabana was able to hold her off at the line, In her last attempt in stakes company as well The Thirsty Bold Dirt Juvenile she once again came from well back but this time she did not hang as far back and she was much improved from her first attempt taking the win easily keeping Catnap Cabana in her rear view mirror. That 96 Sp will go along way for her here as she pops up to the graded level and takes on what looks like only a so so field.

R Bokie has the mount and he is no stranger on her.

10horse10

Super Saver filly is doing just that saving a lot of time building into a contender by jumping from the bottom step to the top. Weekend Saver to this date just debuted in October and did win nicely with a 79 SP first time asking but will now need some Super for her saver to get this one. Cowboy 326 Stables has had this one resting right here in Kentucky and does seem to like the surface and distance and this will certainly help. Will need to run her eyes out though. Will pass this time.

R Vanlandingham has the ride

11horse11

Canadian bred and Countdiana Stables Redwood Reign comes off a sparkling win in the Global Snow Mine Dirt Juvenile where she took the reign where she blasted to the lead and never looked back in a decent 90 SP. She has had four races in her young career and she has finished first in three and 2nd in one so we know she is a tough gal. In her only loss she found another even speedier than her and had her own style turned on her as she chased and the winner that day would not let go of the prize but she was game all the way through. Distance and surface work well for her as she ships in fro the race.

J Graney has the job in the saddle.

12horse12

HOTLITTLENOSE

Hotlittelnose has been quite a nice consistent filly for the Hollywood Stables finishing in the money 6 of 7 tries including 2 wins the last in the lower allowance races at 19500 and in that one she was able to get the lead and run away and hide against that competition showing nice signs of improvement along the way. She was subsequently whisked into a res. Stakes race and probably  did much better than expected giving up the lead late to a very competitive field top to bottom. She once again showed improvement and this is a bit of a jump for her but she just might fit if she continues to press forward. She will need to if she is to have any chance of competing with the speed and holding off the late comers in this race and we have many of each. She likes the distance and the surface. It will be interesting to see if this Daddy Knows Best filly really does know best. I like her just not this time.

13horse13

Darkman Stables Kaui Kauper is the second of Graded Winners entered in this race and has been going strong in the upper levels with some very good success. After a couple of tough turf outings where it seems clear right now anyhow that she prefers the dirt she has continued on her winning ways and tried the G3’s the last two coming out with a win in one of them The Buckeye Debutante where he stalked the early pace sitting just of f in fifth and when the timing was right let her go and she won going away to gain her first G3. She immediately was brought back to try her luck in the Margarine Stakes G3 where she was an improve SP of 92 but ran one paced and eventually gave way to the top two who ran away with it. She will ship in from the tough Ontario Track to another tough venue here in Kentucky and now contends with seasoned 2 year olds ready to do battle. Will be tough to figure how she will choose to run this race but she will need to find that second and third gear to be a factor. Running one paced is not likely a good tactic.

D Esperado has the mount.

14horse14
Wingfoot Stables Rae’s Creek is probably the most seasoned of the heavy weights here having run G1 company a few times but still looking for that elusive first graded win. She certainly ran her best race of her career in her last posting a 95 SP in the prestigious Breeders Bowl Filly Juvy  where she finished a fast closing fourth. Hard to gauge though since all the top horses came from well back as the front end collapsed. Her technique is simple, she loves to close but she is not the strongest at this tactic and therefore timing is everything and so far she has not gotten the break she needs but it will come. She will have tons of both speed and the ralliers on this day so her timing will be crucial. Perhaps the jockey on this one will be the deciding factor for her. The big question mark for her on this one though is she is moving to the dirt for the first time and stretching once again. Prefer to watch once on the surface.
