The crowd will definitely be abuzz as we wrap up the Bargain Bowl card and run the last race in the 2006 Bowl. The hopes and dreams of the crowd holding their tickets on this race pale in comparison to the Owners and young horses running in it. A win here can certainly lead to great things in the future. There are some really beautiful and talented horses here so let’s take a look:

1 – MUJASTROPHIC ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED EARNINGSSIRE
6/1FoxMax5.2% M.Grunard 21% N/A $50,149Cat’s Debut

It took until her sixth race to break her maiden but went right out after that and won and allowance and has a two race win streak coming in. Trainer FoxMax has a whole stable full of two year old Bargain babies and this looks like the best. Her sire is very lightly used with only nine offspring in the past four years with limited success and no stakes winners. Grunard is in the saddle and is a good one, watch for this filly as the stars are lined up right.

2 – FIND THAT GOLD ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED EARNINGS SIRE
27/1FoolOfDirt 11.1% M.Ryneer 4% 58.5 $2,208 Finder’s Gold

This girl is still looking for that elusive first win but has been competitive in all six races. Trainer FoolOfDirt is looking for the right combination factors and hasn’t tried this distance but she likes a mile and may work well here. Sire FINDERS GOLD has one Stakes winner and would love another with this filly.

3 – JACOBITE WOOD ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED EARNINGSSIRE
22/1BlueGreen0.0% R.Dickenson 4% N/A $5,825Woodpas

This pretty chestnut filly has had but one race but she looked good in finishing second in that one barely fading at the end. This will be her first time at seven but trainer BlueGreen feels that she is ready. With only eight runners in five years it is tough to sell about her Sire and he has not had a ton of success. Dickenson is in the irons and has been struggling this year, maybe he can find himself here.

4 – EL CONDO PASSA ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED EARNINGS SIRE
16/1Runvus1 5.7% M.Robertson 12% 76.7 $10,572 Ne Coupez Paz

After moving back to the turf last time out, she threw a nice 76 SPF and took second just missing out on the win in a hard charging finish. That was at six and a half and the extra distance here may be just what trainer Runvus1 ordered for his filly. With Robertson holding the reins, this group may have been given some generous odds by the morning line and might be worth a look at the ticket window.

5 – CHANTILI CUMANI(GB) ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED EARNINGS SIRE
13/1MubTaker6.0% Q.Redden 8% N/A $2,912 Le Vie De Colori

Nice looking chestnut colt with with only one race to his credit but he had a good start with a third place finish and a 72 SPF. That second race can go either way with either a good or bad bounce back but trainer MubTaker thinks this colt is ready. His Daddy, freshman Sire LE VIE DEI COLORI has but one win from his ten offspring but this guy could help that record out some. Redden is quite capable with youngsters and will use his magic hands on the reins.

6 – JACOBITE DIEGO ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED EARNINGSSIRE
6/11917Sox7.1% C.Sites 9% 74.1 $40,736Elnadim

Trainer 1917Sox’s filly won her maiden two back after a countdown of finishing her races with a fourth, third, second and finally the win. She fell back a bit in her first allowance outing last time out at a mile but probably likes this distance a bit better. Her sire ELNADIM has shown some success with five stakes winners. This filly looks like she may have the right stuff and has Stites in the leather which may help here.

7 – JACOBITE BABBLER ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED EARNINGS SIRE
17/1Culloden 4.7% K.Wheeler 7% N/A $2,912 China Visit

Another Jacobite in the field and this one is a bit tough to read with only one race to his credit. He ran an uninspired third place in that race with only a 61 SPF. Trainer Culloden doesn’t know what to expect from this colt but this field will certainly press him more and may bring out the best. Sire CHINA VISIT has had moderate success with one Stakes winner a couple of years back.

8 – GONZO ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED EARNINGSSIRE
5/2Aussie0210.9% L.Clayton 6% 79.4 $40,560Bold Executive

A two time winner and just missed a third last time out, finishing second in the BEARLY WITH ZACH Stakes. Trainer Aussie02 has to be excited about the prospects of this Colt. His Sire, BOLD EXECUTIVE though showing some success with his offspring hasn’t had a Stakes winner and this may be his ticket. Clayton is in the irons and has been struggling some this year but this colt could help that out if he can hold on.

9 – WARIUZ GAME ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED EARNINGSSIRE
12/1Wariuz11.3% A.Peglow 11% 62.3 $16,664Mujahid

The good news is that this filly won her last race which broke her maiden. The bad news is that it was her first race on dirt and now she is back on the grass. You have to wonder if trainer Wariuz knows something that we don’t about that. She looks as if she enjoys the sand better. Her Dad has thrown more turf runners than dirt but she may be the exception. It will be interesting to see how she does here.

10 – THREE KIDS ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED EARNINGS SIRE
9/1Amazon212.2% B.Clayton 10% 68.0 $15,741 N/AUnaccounted For

A colt that is still looking for his first win but has shown tremendous improvement over his past four races. He went from a 49SPF to a 72 and seems to like this distance better. Trainer Amazon2 has shown that he can saddle winners and knows what he is doing with this colt. Clayton is quite capable in the leather and will help guide this big guy. Sire UNACCOUNTED FOR has had pretty good success and won’t hurt the genealogy. Could be a contender here.

11 – JACOBITE RIDGE ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED EARNINGS SIRE
35/1RedForgo 10.0% C.Skrepenak 7% N/A $1,048Temescal Ridge

A filly with four races and one third but has never run faster than a 57 SPF but it was at this distance. Trainer RedForgo is hoping that she is ready to contend with this group but her past two were pretty uninspired. Perhaps Skrepenak can move her along but he’s been having his own problems this year. SireTEMESCAL RIDGE has only one winner in his freshman sire year but it was a Graded win with JACOBITE HOT SAUCE.

12 – POINT RINGMAN ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED EARNINGS SIRE
8/1CrackPot11.7% B.Fortune 10% 70.4 $24,094Ringaro

A nice looking light grey colt that has finished on the board in half of his six races. He ran a nice 74 SPF last time out but that was at a mile and you wonder if he likes the longer distances. Trainer CrackPot hasn’t been afraid to move him around at different distances and has found that he is a deep closer. Fortune is holding the reins and is having a solid year in the saddle. This may be the best offspring in five years for sire RINGARO.

13 – GO FOR WINZ(IRE) ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED AVG SPEEDSIRE
23/1WinHunter10.5% L.Ingersoll 21% 49.9 $11,760Golan

This big filly has a win in her three races but it was on the dirt and she seems to enjoy that better. Trainer WinHunter is bringing her back to the turf this race after a lackluster effort on the clay last time out. Ingersoll is in the stirrups and has one of the best records at this track so tham may help. Her Daddy, GOLAN has had one Stakes winner in five years and would love to have another here.

14 – BOSSY BOOTS ODDS OWNER WIN% JOCKEY WIN% TOP SPEED EARNINGSSIRE
12/1Climb8.2% J.Elizondo 11% 64.5 $15,020The Road Boss

A Colt with solid if unspectacular times, he has a maiden win in his four races. Trainer Climb has seen improvement in his past three races and is hoping for another jump here from the smallish colt. He has a good rider up in Elizondo and a sire in THE ROAD BOSS that is lightly used but has had pretty good success with winners. Could surprise here.

Morning Line = 8-1-6-12-10
Yoss Tipsheet = 8-5-1-12
Paz Picks = 8-12-1-5
A fairly even race, I like MUJASTROPHIC to finish third. POINT RINGMAN may like a bit longer distance but should have enough speed to contend here. But GONZO looks like the class of this field and I don’t see anyone beating him.

Good luck to all runners!
