Freedom Kitty Looking To Go Buck Wild in Small Stakes Field

horse1Exbourne’s Games…. seems to be one of those horses who has a tough time putting two good efforts together, choosing to take the odd night off, as was the case in his last, while out in Kentucky, and failing to fire at all when it counted most, staggering in 11 lengths in a rears to the winner, and finishing 6th in an 8 horse field, where she was considered one of the better on that day in the public betting.

If this is a true factor of what to expect from her than this race should be a good one for her, in a bounce back, at a track she had tons of success at before here in Kansas, where she was a impressive winner by 2 in a 105 SP . On that day though the track was off somewhat, and she seems to thrive somewhat more in those off track days, and the distance was also a tad shorter too, but she will be going right back to the 9f test in this one ,on a yielding track, so all points are looking in her favor. She will be running with a field of classier fillies this time though, and might find them a little to testy for her liking.

She will pick up K. Atwood for the ride.

horse2Cross The Dawn tried her luck in the G2 Corn Schucker last out after a sensational race in the Surf And Turf stakes,  where she was the easiest of winners, running a dazzling 108 SP , but found the Corn Schucker more kernel than she could handle.

Despite the great stakes win, the public was not impressed, letting her off at long odds, and she showed the betting public just how smart they were, as she finished up in arrears of the field, 10 – 1 ,and was never a factor.

Perhaps her downfall could be just the travel choosing to go to Japan from Canada for that one, and after coming off a nice 4 race win streak, maybe she needs some time to reflect on her accomplishments this season. That experience should help her somewhat though, but once again she is making the trip back to the Western Hemisphere, to try to regain her form.

Since there is no apparent form on her off track ability, we have to assume she will handle it, and the distance and the surface should not be a problem either.

She will have the services of K. Anderson for this one.

horse3Freedom Kitten is a beautifully bred Dubawi filly, who is still chasing the illusive G1 title to go with her already impressive record.

She looks to be the class in this small field, popping fantastic SP ratings all over the place.

In her last she tried the G1 QE2 Challenge, and although she had nailed her best performance of the year in the G2 New Jersey, maybe the bounce was inevitable, and she did just that . She was stalking the pace, and her eyes were set on the lead, but then just could not fire when needed ,as many in the field were chomping at the bit, and she finished well off in mid pack.

On this day she should be looking at an off track, which is fine with her, showing she is quite capable of handling it, and will be looking forward to showing what she is really made of , so she can make another attempt in the near future for her first G1. Only thing that might  work against her is she too like many in here is in need of some time off.

She adds top Kansas jockey J Drozd to the saddle.

horse4Prialta ships in from Wyoming, where she had dropped down to an 9700 ALW. race last time out, to try a routed contest, and went off as the favorite, and to no surprise easily won walking, and could have easily made the rest of the field look pretty bad, but the jockey had her on cruise for the last half of the race.

She can handle the distance ok.  She now drops back in distance once again, coming back up in class huge, where she has had trouble getting the W despite posting nice times , and decent placings.  She certainly is a factor here though and will need her early speed and endurance to be victorious.

Prialta  has shown the ability to handle the off track.

She did have a 5 month rest before her latest, but has been very busy the last few. Should be good for one or two more I think.

Prialta picks up 12 year vet D. Johnson to handle the course.
