CAN K’S PANACH REIGN IN SPAIN?
WILL WE SEE K’S PANACHE IN SPAIN?
Spain, bull fighting capital of the world, home of the famous Toledo steel and where the rain falls mainly on the plane this week plays host to the Grade III Ida Ore Stakes, a mile race on turf for fillies and mares 3yo and up. We have eleven runners assembled for this one so lets check them out.
1 – TAKETHECAR 16/1 – A 3yo winner of 3 races who hasn’t won for some time but has been in good company. Her last win was at Grade 3 level over this trip so that is in her favour. Needs to find her from again and can only be taken on trust here.
2 – GLAD GIRLS 5/1 – A 5yo veteran of 40 races who is still racing in fine fettle. This daughter of Forty Niner has 2 wins and 3 placings from her last 5 and is very consistant. She will be thereabouts and a win would not surprise.
3 – FOLLOW THE PATH 7/1 – Turf specialist who has struggled of late over shorter trips. Before that she put in some great runs over longer sprints which suggests she will like the extra distance. Relatively new to routes but if her sprint form carries over she will be right in this.
4 – K’S PANACHE 9/2 – A genuine turf miler with an outstanding strike rate. Won last start after a 4th at Grade 1 level 2 back. She has a brilliant record over this trip and looks the testing material. Ranked 35 in the world she is a real class act and will take some tossing.
5 – STAR OF SAL(AUS) 5/1 – Has been placed in her last 2 which were her first ventures into stakes racing. She had been racing superbly in allowance company prior to that. Steps up in class again here but suggests she is ready to cope.
6 – RENACER 8/1 – Chasing a hat trick of wins after 2 solid displays in allowance races. Rises sharply in class here and may find it a bit harder. Prefer to see.
7 – GREEK RANSOM 8/1 – Was racing well before a last start failure in a sprint race. Placed at Grade 1 level over this journey 4 starts back and if she reproduces that she will find her self well in the hunt for her share of some spoils here. Needs to be at her best.
8 – GONE DEEP 7/1 – A model of consistence in recent times over varying distances. She seems to prefer a trip like this the only query is the class of the race. This is her litmus test.
9 – HAPPY RULER 13/1 – Has a good win strike rate and has been racing well in easier races. The 2 clouds that hang over her here are whether or not she will run out the distance and if she is ready for the class. She likes to lead and may give them something to catch.
10 – KRAZY MOMMA(IRE) 5/1 – A bold front runner who found the Grade 1 company a little to quick in her last race. Won a Stakes in style the race before that and certainly isn’t the worst here. One for the multiples.
11 – AICHI’S CAT 24/1 – The rank outsider here and rightly so. Takes a quantum leap in class from her restricted allowance races of recent times and has only been consistent in those without dominating. Needs a lot of luck here. Prefers it easier.
Well all in all a very open affair as the odds would suggest!!! I’d prefer to sit this out as a punter but if I had to choose I’d take 4-7-5.
Good luck all and good punting
