It’s All Your Fault Stakes-G2
It’s All Your Fault Stakes
Grade II
One mile
Fast Dirt
$250,000
All horses, 3 years old and up
Late closer lead the way in this year’s running of the It’s All Your Fault Stakes-G2. Led by morning line favorite, Zygote, this field is full of horses that like to come from the back but will hard press to find the finish line with at least a couple of choice looking to take the early lead and wire the field. This combination of distinct running styles is setting up for a classic “Pace makes the race” scenario and should prove to be an exciting blanket finish. Don’t be surprised to see a photo finish and a possible steward objection as the lead should change hands several times. Good weather is predicted as this field of 12 looks for their share of the $250,000 purse.
PP 1
7/1 ONEMOREFORTHEROAD
(BROAD BRUSH x RAISE A NATIVE x
Breaking from the inside gate, Onemorefortheroad is coming off two very solid performances including a win in his last race in The SLEW THE MUSIC Bonanza-Stk which was his first stake win of any type. Trainer hornfrog3 is hoping that the magic is still there as he moves his colt up in class to take on a few of the best. It’s hard to question that move as that last race netted a 108 SR and if you’re going to make a move, you need to do it when you’re hot. Although he prefers to sit farther back in the pack, he doesn’t necessarily need to come from last to first and will probably be better off staying no farther back than 6-8 lengths as he’ll have to fight many horses with similar styles coming off the turn.
PP 2
99/1 LOUD DIGGER
(DAZZLING FALLS x UNBRIDLED x BELIEVE IT)
New trainer xanth2 brings his 99/1 Loud Digger with little more than four legs and a prayer. It takes to time to find your way in the game and hopefully this race will add a little more experience for xanth2. Hopefully he can find a claiming race for his horse in his next race and finally land that first win for him.
PP 3
17/1 LUMBERING WILDCAT
(FOREST WILDCAT x PENTELICUS x TIME FOR A CHANGE)
Stepping way up in class, Lumbering Wildcat goes from allowance contender to graded stake runner. Although he’s been solid in his class it will take a career performance for him to come out on top today. It’s really hard to put much hope in a horse racing with SR ratings in the 90’s and who’s only two wins this year have been a same track restricted and a 4yo only NW4L allowance races. However, with consistent speeds he might contend for a minor share of the purse.
PP 4
54/1 GO MITTASILLE GO
(GONE WEST x SUNSHINE FOREVER x
Our only three year old, Go Mittasille Go, seems to have found his grove after his last race. With only six career races he’s certainly improved in a hurry. At 54/1, at hit on the board would mean a great payday if you’re willing to figure him in somewhere on your trifecta ticket. He’s shown some versatility in his running style but it wasn’t until his last race where he tried for the early lead and held it that he really scored well. His two knocks against him is the fact that he moves way up in class and takes on older horses for the first time. However, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a good showing as this colt is showing signs of maturity.

5/2 ZYGOTE

PP 6
7/1 EMPIRE OF THE SUN
(GENERAL MEETING x MR. PROSPECTOR x GREY DAWN II)
The sprinter Empire Of The Sun takes on two turns for the third time this year and if his run here is anything like the previous two, then he’ll be more than a handful for the competition. After a successful career in sprint events, it wasn’t until this year that joanneb decided to stretch his legs and Empire Of The Sun responded with SR’s of 104 and 106. He took many of the best in the division in his last classic distance race in the Moonshine Mile-G1 and finished second when he was caught in the last 1/8th by Journeyman. Questions of stamina have started to crop in his recent races as he likes to go to the lead and will try to challenge Glimpse Of Gold for the lead. Joanneb is hoping that his horse has something left in him for the final run though. With only two previous races at this distance it’s really hard to judge how he’ll perform but the two have been very competitive and you should expect much the same today.
PP 7
99/1 WINDORA
(FRISKY DAN x DOULAB x INKOSANA)
As another new trainer to the game, rebel65 also looks to gain some experience with his entry here with Windora. This horse has been a life long dirt sprinter and has performed decent at those distances. Since taking ownership of this horse he’s entered him in two turf races and one 14 furlong race on the dirt. This horse is better suited around 6-7 furlongs on the dirt and in either claiming or allowance company. It will be a two horse race to see who’ll bring up the rear against Loud Digger and hopefully this race will help this new trainer understand the class division of the game.
PP 8
6/1 GLIMPSE OF GOLD
(UNFUWAIN x THE MINSTREL x PLEASANT COLONY)
Very lightly raced this year, Glimpse Of Gold and trainer bandon is hoping for a “glimpse” of the past when this six year old was putting up monster SR numbers and wins. He makes his first graded start since March of last year and only his 5th start overall this season. He’s coming off a good showing last time out in an Alw-12900NW1t where he wired the field and saw his speed rating return to the triple digits. This horse is blessed with early speed and look for him to go straight to front. Depending on whether or not he’s challenged very hard will really determine his chances as the hard charging trio of Journeyman, Zygote and Titan Moon will try to save ground and move as they round the second turn. There’s absolutely no question that he can handle this level of competition but the questions that will have to be answered is whether or not he still has what it takes at six years old and if the light racing schedule has done more harm than good.
PP 9
30/1 ALZAO MISSED
(ALZAO x MISWAKI x FABULOUS DANCER)
Alzao Missed showed some promise as a four year old with several races rated over 100+ SR’s. Most of his better races have come under a mile in distance and he’s struggled to find his way this year since tackling two turns. New trainer jfisher3 has a tough road ahead of him here as both the distance and the performance will more than likely get the best of his horse. For a $3500 claimer he’s not bad but is simply outclassed here and would better suited in either allowance or claiming company. However, he might surprise with a decent finish mid-pack.
PP 10
4/1 JOURNEYMAN
(SEEKING THE GOLD x A.P. INDY x DEPUTY MINISTER)
Journeyman shortens back up a bit here today after a horrible outing last time out at 10 furlongs in a surprising Alw-14200. This Seeking The Gold horse really wasn’t ran very much for most of his career up till this last year and the payoff has been five graded victories. Currently ranked #4 his absence on BB day was also sorely missed which made the allowance start three weeks prior to the big day all the more puzzling. His back to back G1 wins earlier this year is still widely talked about as he chalked up victories in both the Cosmopolitan Handicap-G1 and the Moonshine Mile-G1. He has an almost identical running style as favorite Zygote so it will be interesting to see who will fire first and more importantly, who has enough gas left in the final 1/8th.
PP 11
6/1 TWIST OF LEMON
(LEMON DROP KID x STORM CAT x KRIS S.)
Shipping cross country, Twist Of Lemon hopes to return to form after finding the courses on the east coast not to his liking. His performances, though still strong, have been going the wrong direction since his win four races back in the Movieland Shiny Cup-G1. He really has failed to menace in his last couple of starts and trainer theaxell hopes that a five week layoff will do him some good. He has shown the ability to take down the field but he may find the going tough given the level of competition he’s facing. I still like his chances but he seems to be a bit of an underlay at 6/1 as I would have preferred him more around 10/1. His running style may be an advantage as he likes to sit just off the leader and if he can get a good jump around the turn he may have just enough to hold off the cavalry charge of the top three picks.
PP 12
5/1 TITAN MOON
(DYNAFORMER x KINGMAMBO x BUCKPASSER)
Titan Moon returns to graded level still looking for the elusive graded win. You can certainly see the improvement this year as this colt has shown some very good signs of veteranship and was finally rewarded with a win last time out in The TUCK’S PROSPECTOR Stakes-Stk. He does have a couple of good showings at this level with the best coming earlier this year in the Winchester Cap-G3 where he finished a very game 3rd. He also prefers to sit at the back of the pack so make that now the top three choices with identical running styles. The stretch run should prove every bit as exciting as it’s setting up to be. They will need at least a couple of horses to battle for the early lead to set the pace up correctly.
