Welcome to todays feature race the Grade I GO DEEP Handicap for the young ladies over 11f on the Turf course. There’s been some rain here today and the going is noe Good. A smallish field of eight but quite a few have a decent chance
DEVIL’S SLIDE Is todays favourite, and is the only Graded winner in the field. She sits well back and likes to come with a late charge to power away in the final quarter. She won her last two races over 10f going away and should certainly see out the extra furlong. A worthy favourite, she is going to take some beating. STAGE COACH SLEW(IRE) looks set to be the main challenger, having finished a closing second in a Grase I latest. This may be too short for her now, although as she also comes from the back she will get a tow from Devils Slide but shouldn’t beat her. Second place. GO FOR SAM may be the one to finish third. She ran an encouraging third with a 93 speed figure over a woefully short 8.5f latest and will improve markedly for the step up in trip. She has already won an allowance going away over 10f. May even manage to get second place as she sits just off the pace and could easily get first run on Stage Coach Slew.
Of the others, ZAMSHAFT looks like a miler as her best recent run was a narrow victory over 8.5f in an allowance. Out of her class and too far. LUCKY STAR will relish the step uop in trip but will have to improve to figure as she’s looked outclassed in previous graded races.. Still running at the right distance could help and she may be a lively outsider. CANDY CANE and F.FAIRLIGHT have struggled in stakes and are out of their depth. ARAGON BULL may be the other danger. She has been steasdily improving and this looks her distance. As another who sits near the front she also could get an early run and if not placing here will certainlt do so in the future at this grade.
