Michigan – Only four trainers dropped entries in the $70,000, mile and 3/4, Half Car Bonanza but it should be a good race anyway with all the entrants having a decent shot.  The race was named after Half Car an 11 YO mare by It’s True.  She won five of 35 races and is the dam of one foal to race, a winner.  Here is the field by post.

On the inside is Sarah Beara (3/1), a 5YO mare by Louis Quatorze and she will be saddled by Fats22.  She is the long shot on the board but has a great chance to win this race.  She has won six of 30 starts and she went wire to wire to win an allowance race at 14 furlong, Saturday’s distance.   She has finished second in her last two, The Frenchy and The Ugly Band Stakes, proving she has successfully made the class jump from allowance to stakes races.  If she gets loose on the lead, she may make believers of everyone.

Hail To The King (2/1) is conditioned by Redturkey and is a 4 YO daughter of Kingmambo.  She is ranked # 14 and has won 11 of 29 starts.  She is ultra consistent, earned over a million dollars, and has not finished off the board in her last eight starts.  She is the winner of The Friend Esteem, The His Project, The Unitas Millenium and The Carolina Role.  She definitely will be tough to beat.

Waremblem2 is sending out his well-built filly, Empire Storm (2/1) who is a 4 YO by Empire Maker.  She has won five of 23 and comes into this race off a winning effort in The Heart O Marble.  She won that by almost four lengths, she is at the top of her game, so don’t count her out.

On the outside will be Featured Event (8/5) a 4 YO filly trained by Sundial.  This daughter of Event of The Year has five wins and has been in the money in 15 of her 25 starts.  She has won two of her last four including the Agent Babe at two miles and she comes into this race off a second place finish in The All Slide.   Since there is little speed in this race, she might find herself on the lead and she will be tough to catch.
