COOL SUNNY DAY HERE IN THE BLUEGRASS STATE FOR THE RUNNING OF THE GRADE 1 SCOTTSDALE BB STAKES. A PURSE OF 500,000 IS UP FOR GRABS TODAY. THIRTEEN OF THE TOP BOYS WILL TAKE ON ONE LONELY FILLY IN THE FIELD TODAY. THE SLIGHT MORNING LINE FAVORITE GATHERING MOMENTUM AND RANKED 4TH IN THE DIVISION TRIES TO TAKE OVER THE TOP WITH A WIN OVER THE #1 RANKED WONDERBOY EAMON(IRE). |
1. HARD TO HANDLE a 4yo colt by MISWAKI and trained by zwylde has a record of 10-5-3 from 28 starts and earnings of 1,010,051 and ranked 8th. In his last start the G2 DR. PATCHES he was 3rd beaten 2 ¼ lengths that day. His lone start here in Kentucky back in week 2825 he was 2nd in the G1KENTUCKY HORSEMEN ELIXIR SPRINT. This colt will be part of the early pace but not sure he is up for the win. |
2. SCOOBS CONNECTION a 4yo colt by DANZIG CONNECTION and trained by lilscoobi has a record of 9-4-1 from 21 starts and earnings of 1,109,150 and ranked 20th. This colt is coming off a 15 length beating in his last start in the G1 BOB WOODWARD MEMORIAL. This colt is dropping back in distance and will be firing late in the lane. |
3. EMPIRE OF THE SUN a 5yo by GENERAL MEETING and trained by joanneb has a record of 12-6-1 from 36 starts and earnings of 1,583,311 and ranked 15th. This old boy has one win this year and that was in a Conditioned Allowance. He did however finish 4th in the G1 TRI-CITY SPRINT in his last start. Solid old guy here but can’t go with him today. |
4. KAMPFEN II K’S a 5yo by STORM CAT and trained by supreme has a record of 12-2-6 from 27 starts and earnings of 582,710 and ranked 32nd. Three starts back won the G3 SIN CITY with a 111SP. Here is another that will have a hard time today. Still never count the old guy out. |
5. GLIDE SLOPE a 3yo colt by CHARISMATIC and trained by super30 has a record of 6-1-1 from 14 starts and earnings of 246,105 and 39th ranked. Finally found the board after 5 straight poor performances in his last race an Open Allowance in which he was 2nd. This colt will need a whole lotta help to win this one today. |
6. BAG O TRICKS a 4yo colt by DEVIL’S BAG and trained by trotnirish has a record of 5-5-0 from 16 starts with earnings of 202,305 and ranked 31st. Won last time out against Conditioned Allowance runners. Have to go back 5 starts and this colt won the G2 KENTUCKY BREEDERS BOWL SPRINT. This colt will love a hot and contested early pace for his late kick. |
7. GATHERING MOMENTUM a 4yo colt by STORM CAT and trained by rascal has a record of 13-2-3 from 22 starts and earnings of 947,155 and ranked 4th. Was a wire to wire winner in his last start the G1 BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN going 8f. Looking back in this colts past performances you have to wonder if any one will challenge him on the lead. Anytime this colt gets pressed on the front end or he doesn’t get the lead he doesn’t win. |
8. WONDERBOY DJ a 4yo colt by CARSON CITY and trained by wonder2 has a record of 7-5-2 from 23 starts and earnings of 842,664 and ranked 12th. This is another colt that will thrive if the pace is hot upfront. Was just beaten a fast closing nose in his last race the G1 TRI-CITY SPRINT. This colt is always close at the end watch for a big race today. |
9. AB FAB a 3yo colt by AWESOME AGAIN and trained by dolphinman has a record of 8-2-2 from 16 starts and earnings of 819,970 and 22nd ranking. Was beaten ½ length in his last start the G1 MORRISON MILE after having the lead midstretch. The two times this colt has stepped foot on this course he has been beaten severely. Will need a big turn around today. |
10. WONDERBOY EAMON(IRE) a 3yo colt by DESERT KING(IRE) and trained by stalfrank has a record of 8-1-0 from 16 starts and earnings of 1,585,620 and ranked 1st. Hard to believe in his last 4 starts he has not been close to the favorite in any of those races. His last race the G2 BLUEGRASS CUP SPRINT he was 4th beaten less than 2 lengths. Wasn’t a whole lot of speed that day for his closing kick. Givins back in the saddle again today. |
11. IRISH CHARISMA a 4yo colt by CHARISMATIC and trained by bigal50 has a record of 8-7-3 from 26 starts and earnings of 271,329 and ranked 41st. Finally found the winners circle in his last starts after 6 straight losing efforts. Will need to improve a whole lot here today. |
12. FLY’S MOTIVATOR(IRE) a 3yo colt by MONTJEU(IRE) and trained by charliefly has a record of 3-7-0 from 16 starts and earnings of 302,405 and ranked 6th. His ranking is highly inflated running here against older horses. His first time against older horses too today. Won the 3yo SIMPLY ELECTRIC in his last start. Will need to really improve his SP today to contend. |
13. PEQUIN CAT a 4yo colt by TABASCO CAT and trained by quietly has a record of 7-1-5 from 29 starts and earnings of 573,146 and ranked 9th. Was 3rd beaten a length in the G1 TRI-CITY SPRINT his last start. Before that he won the VOLUPTUOUS COUNT STAKE. This is yet another colt that would love to see a speed duel upfront. |
14. SUFFRAGETTE CITY a 4yo filly by CARSON CITY and trained by sdmf5 has a record of 6-4-3 from 21 starts and earnings of 391,519 and ranked 7th. You gotta go back on her past performances to see she took on the boys right here at Kentucky in the G2 ASTROTURF SPRINT finishing a solid 3rd beaten less than 2 lengths. |
LOOKS TO BE A LOT OF EARLY SPEED IN HERE TODAY SO I’M GOING WITH THE LONGSHOT #10 WONDERBOY EAMON(IRE) GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!! |
