High N Black Returns For Title
(SP)Wyoming- We stay on the turf for another week and this time seven furlongs will be the distance. It is slated for three year or older horses and we have eleven eligible racers. For once the WRC has gotten it right and this week’s feature race will honor a retired horse that had five stakes wins and two graded wins. Six of those came on the turf which has further eased the pressure on the WRC for at least a week. This will be the second running of $60,000 Pharivor Challenge and should be just the ticket for a fine autumn day. If it is anything like last year, it should be an exciting race. That being said, we should meet our hopefuls for Saturday.
Jdawg Child entered by jdawg05. This elder chestnut colt will try to extend his time on the turf. He will be in just his fifth turf run after spending most of the career on the dirt. He has been running solid the last few weeks, but not great. He appears to want just a little more ground then he has been getting lately. Likes to come from the back of the field.
High N Black entered by purespeed. This elder statesman comes in still putting up the numbers and the results. The closer has a stall full of silver from all his stakes wins over a long career, including three this year. He is hoping to be one better than last year’s race and pull in the win this time. The only other time he came out of the two slot he won, so this could be in his favor.
Lottery Pick entered by fatdaddy. This elder chestnut comes in looking for that first stakes win. The colt has been a little sporadic this season, but has a couple of strong run the last two time out. He usually breaks from the gate late and likes to make his closing charge either on the inside or the outside. He has had trouble when slotted in the middle of the field. Being in three could possibly cause him some trouble.
Fusaichi Magpie entered by punter59. This horse comes in as the odds on favorite and is well known by Wyoming racing fans. This will be his fourth Wyoming stakes this year and is hoping the familiarity with the track will be to his benefit. He will once again team up with Vince Gannon in the irons, hoping this will pull off a win once again.
Mayassa(IRE) entered by kdiv. This Irish sophomore returns to the stakes ranks after several months of allowance racing. This closer has been fairly consistent his last few races and the trainer believes he is ready to return. This will be his first real challenge outside his age group and how he will respond to experienced horse could well set his future. Needs to make sure he doesn’t get boxed in early this time out.
Immaculate Soul(IRE) entered by burlington. How this Irish sophomore was able to slip into this race is mystifying. There has not been a horse with these kind of odds in two, two and a half years. He was finally able to win his maiden this spring but has done nothing in the allowance ranks. He has been running on the grass the last few races and only been getting worse. This is definitely not the place for him.
Flyphard‘s Event entered by lafly. This horse comes in as another of the high “flyers” produced by the Fly conglomerate. This stalker will be going for his twentieth win overall and is set for a strong challenge. He has missed out on the money only once this season and has been churning out 100+ speeds regularly. Coming out of the gates in the middle of the field is where he likes to be.
Go For The Jugular entered by willam38. This midpacker returns to Wyoming since being here in June. He has been inconsistent and only truly excelling in the allowance ranks. Maybe that is where he would best be served, although he has run well here. The trainer is hoping a little added distance and the thinner air will spark him as it has before.
Magic Number entered by goodtimes. This horse was recently picked up off claimers by the current trainer. The trainer then gave the horse a couple of races in the starter ranks for confidence before taking him back to the stakes ranks. This has paid off with four wins out of five races and second on the one he missed. This stalker has been slowly improving with each race and is primed to continue his winning ways.
Hero‘s Demise(AUS) entered by sender3. This chestnut sophomore makes his tenth race a debut in North American racing. After two poor showings, the trainer is hoping a change of racing style will give their horse that added spark to return him to his winning ways. Seven furlongs may not be his ideal race, but the trainer believes this together with a venue change is just the ticket for his second Black Tie win.
Stars Of November entered by simrace7. This chestnut sophomore is another lightly raced horse. He has been a very inconsistent runner so far this season. He has a tendency to run well one week and then bad the next. He is coming off a sub-par outing so could be set for a strong challenge, or not. He is generally a stalking type of racer.
