WORLD OF TROUBLE Moves Into the Top Five!
Numbers Don’t Lie Stakes
Grade III
Six furlongs on Firm Turf
$150,000
Fillies and mares, 3 years old and up
The final figures are in and just like the name of this Stakes race, “The NUMBERS DON’T LIE”. There was one standout horse in the race this weekend and that was WORLD OF TROUBLE who ran with tons of power and confidence from the “way back” and easily passed the entire field on her way to the winners circle.
This four year old beautifully bred filly ( (GIANT’S CAUSEWAY (IRE) x FAPPIANO x LYPHARD) has had a year that any trainer would be proud of and ZWylde is no exception. His big brown girl won her second Graded Stakes of the year and has finished in the top three in every one of her ten Stakes races this year. Her 104 SPF in the race was her second fastest and she moved into the top five in turf sprinters. She moved up over half a million dollars in earnings and should figure into the big end of the year races.
PLOY took the early lead in the race and held it until the stretch run where she faded badly. In the meantime, our winner started off at a slow pace and immediately dropped to last in the field and moving backward. She was nearly seven lengths back at the half and looked like there were too many good horses ahead of her. In the end it appeared that she was in a different class than the other fillies. She easily worked past the entire field who bunched up at the end of the final turn and flew down the stretch to win by two lengths. CANDY CANE held on to second place which she had occupied the entire race but by just a tiny bit over ACADEMY OF LIGHT who popped out of the pack to grab third place. The top three all hit triple digit speed figures.
After moving up into the top five, ZWylde can put his prized filly into most any race he wants to. It will be interesting to see where he points her and whether or not he stays to the top graded races from here on in.
Good luck to all runners!
