Juvenile Gals set to run in The BRIGHT ACCOUNT Stakes

The BRIGHT ACCOUNT Stakes is scheduled for Saturday, September 30 at the Ole’ North State Racing Complex in North Carolina.  A field of six two- year fillies will step onto the turf course with hopes high that a strong run in this event will propel them on to bigger and brighter events.

DOUSED –pp1 (Mingun x Distant View) has been in-the money in both races.  She ran a solid third in Dollar Mount Special last time out.  However, with both starts having been on the dirt, her presences on the turf creates some questions.

SEXY SHASHA –pp 2 (Distorted Humor x Awesome Again)  comes in as the early morning line favorite.  With no races under her belt; the selection is based on her breeding.  I am a bit surprised that with this bloodline, she is debuting on a turf  event.

WOETTE’S MOTIVE- pp 3 ( Motivator(GB) x Blushing Groom) won impressively (leading gate to wire) in her debut.  Her trip was over a soften surface, so this may show a bit more of what this filly is all about.  Her chances are enhanced with leading jockey –Naber selecting this mount over other opportunities.

MORE PLEASURE II – pp 4 (Momentum x Cobra King)  A late bid resulted in a narrow win in her initial start.  Rallies in her last two trips have come up a bit short. An honest pace would improve her chances.  She will need a big race to earn the respect from some.

DO NOT OBSTRUCT –pp 5 (Rahy x Sadler’s Wells x Miswaki)  I really like her bloodline and one has to be impressed with her stretch runs in both of her career runs.  In both trips, she settled behind a large pack of horses and showed patience in cruising in the rear earlier on.  Her stretch drives were strong and impressive as she moved past tiring runners.  This small field should provide less potential traffic difficulties and the pace should be honest enough to set her up for another late charge.

BIG NOSED KATE – pp 6 (Seeking the Gold x A.P. Indy) After two dull trips on dirt, a switch to turf served beneficial.  She comes in off of two consecutive turf wins and holds amongst this field- the lone stakes win on the grass.  She will be pressing the early leader(s), and should not be forgotten in any exotics.

Excluding SEXY SASHA (who comes in without a previous start), it appears that WOETTE’S MOTIVE can be expected to grab the early lead, with both BIG NOSED KATE and DOUSED pressing her.  DO NOT OBSTRUCT and MORE PLEASURE II will be riding in the rear and positioning them selves for the stretch drive.  I like WOETTE’S MOTIVE in this event because, I expect her to show a bit more on her second trip to the gate, and more speed from a firmer turf.  See was still running strong and widening her lead at the wire, so the added distance should not be a factor.  If she struggles, DO NOT OBSTRUCT or BIG NOSED KATE may be there to grab the win.
