PP        Age      Horse                           Owner              Odds     Pedigree
1          5M        BESTEST(IRE)               moodswings      3/1       Best of the Bests x Theatrical x Generous

Record: 55 races: 13-14-8 (wins: MSW + 1 claimers + 5 allowances + 6 Stakes)

Congratulations Moodswings: looks like you claimed this gem last year for 100bps, but he won 6 Stakes for you. In the 17 Stakesraces this guy ran for his current owner he only finished 2 times out of the top 4. Very good results overall. Won his last three races and is clearly in very good form. Ran only 2 times before the 2 miles: first time early at 4y old which might have been a bit too soon and last time couple of races ago where where he missed the win by three lengths. Very strong contender for the win today.

2          3M        CUTE KRIS S                acadie               8/1       Symboli Kris S x Pleasant Tap x Damascus

Record: 15 races: 4-3-5 (wins: MSW + 2 allowances + 1 G3)

2 years younger than BESTEST and looking to have a bright future ahead. Allready won a G3 (at 2 Miles). The big question for him off course is whether he can compete against older and more experienced horses and that might be too early. This guy will definitely still improve but at this point in time the odds of 8/1 are very realistic: he has a chance like everyone else, but he still is so young. Was able to have a topjock on his back so that might help.

3          4M        ALPINE REEL(IRE)          chelseydek        8/1       Pilsudski x Assert x Seattle Dancer

Record: 16 races: 5-1-4 (wins: 4 allowances + 1 Stakes)

A lot of switching around between dirt and turf with this one and successfully in both. Is running the 2 Miles for his tenth time now and did already won a couple (both on turf and dirt). This is clearly a horse that likes to take the lead and just run for his life and putting the rest far behind him. I do feel that they bookies have not been kind to him for this week’s race but his last result was not so good and he did not draw a good jockey (looks like his trainer forgot to pick the jockeys). I do not know what happened in his last race: it looks like he was not able to take the lead and just gave up. If he is able to take the lead in this race he will go all to the end and will be the horse to beat.

4          4M        RELAXXX(JPN)               lordpye             9/1       Sunday Break x Cozzene x Rahy

Record: 16 races: 2-2-1 (wins: MSW + 1 allowance + 1 Stakes)

First Stakesrace for this good allowancehorse. Did had a difficult time early in his carreer to find the right distance and ground. Has been posting pretty constant speeds in the 80’s and doing good in the allowances. His first Stakesrace will be off course a big questionmark. Could be a surprise here as he definitely has this distance in his legs. He did win his last race but the competition there was not good. I honestly think he will have a very difficult time here, but his trainer has probably his eyes on post 6 in this race.

5          4M        WESTERN SCULPTURE   dorrin               2/1       Statue of Liberty x Gone West x Unfuwain

Record: 27 races: 9-2-7 (wins: MCL + 2 claimers + 1 SA + 4 Allowances + 1 Stakes)

This 4y old son of only a G Graded Mare has done much better as his mother. Bred in the year that Statue of Liberty debuted as Sire and that was a very good year for that Sire. But his last two years as a Sire were very bad. The record of this colt is odd: was not able to run good in his first four races, then won his debut in a maidenclaimer. It has to be said that until he was stretched far enough this horse never showed sparks. The stretch to 12 f got him an unrestricted allowancewin and since then the owner knew where this guy belonged. That was his 5th owner already. Looks to have run never better as now and won his last race, which was also his first Stakes. According to the bookies one of the big favorites today.

6          6F         REBEL YELL N                lordpye             8/5       War Chant x Persian Bold x Bounding Basque

Record: 33 races: 10-6-3 (wins: MSW + 2 allowances + 7 Stakes)

The only lady in this company and a classy one. Debuted in a race with only 4 other 3y olds and won with 11 lengths ahead posting only a speed of 76. There was no doubt anymore that this was something special. In her second race this was proven as she again won and posted a speed of 102. Her third race was again more impressive: first Stakes, again a win and a speed of 116. No doubt that her start was extraordinary. Later on it got more difficicult but overall was very competitive. She even ran 4th in a G1 on 16f. This year she has not been able to run 100+ but she won two Stakes both on 14 furlong and from the 6 horses in this race is able to post the better speeds this year. According to the bookies this lady will win this race: she will be tough to beat in my opinion but she is far from unbeatable and will have to watch out for WESTERN SCULPTURE.
