Flying Marg Lives Up to Her Name!
The Why You Buggin Stakes
Grade III
Five Furlongs on Firm Turf
$100,000
Fillies and mares, 2 years old
Austrailian bred FLYING MARG lived up to her name by literally flying down the stretch and passing horses like they were standing still to gather the win here at the interestingly named, WHY YOU BUGGIN STAKES at Longchamp. The big brown filly moved up into the top five two year old turf fillies and upped her earnings to over $117,000 in only four races. In all four, she has hit the top three and this was her second win. The off track made things interesting and she and trainer Dowelly2 definitely took advantage of it.
jumped out the early lead and she challenged the entire away but just faded a bit at the end to finish fifth by less than two lengths. YASAWA FLYER was right on her shoulder at the start and battled her throughout until being passed by the winner in the stretch. She was still able to hold of for second though in a photo finish with SEEKING IT who rounded out the top three. There were actually seven horses within two lengths of the lead for a big bunching of finishers at the end.
It was noted in my preview that FLYING MARG had some questions coming into this race. She may have answered those and then some although there will still be some that question the fact that this race was run on an off track. I for one am a believer and can’t wait to see her race again soon.
Good luck to all runners!
