Will the Loudest Yell come from a Punch Drunk runner?

Seven furlongs  Fast Dirt
$70,000
Fillies and Mares, 3 year olds

A group of eight three years old fillies will face off on Saturday at the Bayou Downs for the running of The IGNORANTLY YELL Challenge Stakes.  IGNORANTLY YELL won over two hundred and fifty thousand in thirty nine starts.  This is the fourth running of this stakes event; second in Louisiana at this distance.

As for the field for the running of the 2006 The IGNORANTLY YELL Challenge Stakes

Jockey-

Odds

7/2

Newfoundland x Peintre Celebre

She continues to improve and shares the co-favorite role in this event.  Her favorite running style is coming strong with a stretch drive. A nice allowance win in her last outing prompts much optimism.

PP2

Jockey-

Odds

9/2

Lemon Drop Kid x Storm Cat

Ships in from Indiana for this event.  Expect her to be pressing the early leaders down the back stretch.

PP3

punch drunk t

Owner

Jockey-

Bo Ryan

Odds

7/2

Two Punch x Danehill

Returns to the same track that she won her last stakes event.  In that event, she played the stalking game to her benefit and may elect to duplicate that effort.

PP4

barb’s baba wawa

Owner-

Jockey-

T Campy

Odds

5/1

Western Winter x Gilded Time

In her last outing (an open allowance event), she shot out of the gate and never looked back.  Still looking for her first stakes win.  This may be the time, if she can settle up front on the backstretch- but expect her to receive some pressure.

PP5

ampuria

Owner-

Jockey-

Odds

4/1

Unbirdled’s Song x Rahy

Two length lose in a tough grade II event (LTO) was impressive enough to make her a serious contender in this event.  She has won only two of twelve events, so event though the talent is there, one may find a safer bet to be to have her as a backup bet.

Jockey-

Odds

5/1

The Deputy(IRE) x Joker

One of several to be setting the early fractions, but can she hold-on to her early position.  She may wear down herself as she wears down others.

PP7

west coast storm

Owner-

Zoomr

Jockey-

RJ Rehberger

Odds

9/1

Storm Cat x Nureyev

Still lightly raced with only nine starts, she continues to improve.  A pulling away win in a restricted allowance event led ownership to bump her up in class.  She may eventually be ready, but not sure now is the time.  The amount of early speed may benefit her chances to rally into contention.

A p z Twelve

Odds

8/1

A.P. Indy x Storm Cat

Impressive breeding, but she has yet to reach her full potential.  Last outing was good enough to earn a trip here.  She has been tested at various distances- which indicates some uncertainty of where she is better suited.  I predict she will eventually ran best at a slightly longer distance than this event.

This is a field has a good group of early speedsters, and some strength in stretch runners.  I see AMPURIA benefiting from a good stalking position and passing some tiring runners.  PUNCH DRUNK T will prove that this is a good track for her running style.  WEST COAST STORM will benefit from a strong early pace to rally into the money.
