Who will be the one Prancing today!!!

What a beautiful day for Grade Two racing in Turkey. One of the feature races here today is the
G2 – Prancing Ferry Stakes for 3yo’s & up fillies and mares over 6F on the firm turf.

Surprisingly we only have a field of 9 runners facing the starter today for the $150,000 purse but there is no doubting the quality of the horses making their way around to the starter.

Let’s have a quick look and see if we can find the winner!!!

1. NAKATOMI HEIST Owner: sanatarium Jockey: N Tippins 22-10-5-2 6/1
A beautiful brown daughter of Canny Ride who comes into this in great form. Last time out in the Listed – Stormin The Gold Turf Mare Dash she went wire to wire winning by a length on the line with a 104SP. If she repeats that run she will be hard to beat.

2. FERNANDO NINE Owner: Fernando Jockey: J Castillo 13-5-3-1 5/1
A lovely bred filly being from the great stallion Bernardini who produced her career best run last start. In the G3 – Laugh And Giggle she settled outside the leader who managed to kick strongly and hold her off by a ¼ length on the line with a 112SP. A 5/1 she is great value.

3. BOBBYSGONEOUTWEST Owner: teamasr2 Jockey: G Painter 9-5-1-1 10/1
An interesting runner stepping out of allowance level for the first time here today. Last time out in a NW4x Allowance she settled back 4th in a field of 5 early before sprinting past her rivals running away winning by 1½ lengths with a 106SP. If the speed is on early watch for her to be storming home.

4. KAMEHA IXTAB Owner: musse Jockey: G Arnold 20-10-2-1 6/1
A very adaptable mare who has proven herself over short and staying trips. Two starts ago in the Listed – Dynamic Motion Turf Mare Challenge she settled outside the leader early before finishing too well winning by ¾ length with a 105SP. Will be there when the whips are cracking in the straight.

5. BLAST OUT Owner: tazenshag Jockey: C Meads 21-10-5-4 2/1
A wonderfully consistent horse who in 21 starts has only missed the placing twice. Three starts back in the G2 – The QLD Snowy Sprint she settled in behind the speed early before sprinting home to just arrive in time winning by a head in a 113SP. The favourite and the one to beat.

6. BREATHTAKING FREAK Owner: bobmarley Jockey: Q Cassell 10-5-1-1 11/1
A rapid improving filly who has progressed through her grades well. I am going to assess her chances on her run in the G3 – The Summer Handicap where she settled back at the tail early before storming home to win by ¼ length with a 105SP. That was her only run against older horses and she was able to rise to the challenge. A good place chance.

7. HOLLYWOOD MAGIC Owner: 911 Jockey: B Doherty 23-10-3-5 9/2
A multiple stakes winning filly who has been in good form. Last start the daughter of Dansili sat just behind the early leader before finishing too strongly for them winning by 1 ½ lengths with a 105SP. Has put together back to back wins and has a good chance here.

8. BEN CROSS Owner: lostkey14 Jockey: L Fenner 26-5-6-6 45/1
Don’t let the big odds turn you off putting a place bet on this horse. Has raced at stakes level her past two runs and acquitted herself well. Two starts ago in the Listed – Gallant Ballado Turf Mare Sprint she lead early before weakening finishing 3rd with a 88SP. Obviously need to lift but a good chance to earn a cheque.

9. TEARY EYED Owner: skunktime Jockey: M Scott 11-8-0-3 6/1
Is building up an impressive record wining her past six starts. The daughter of Street Cry raced through her allowance classes well before winning back to back open allowance races. Last time she stepped up to Listed stakes level in the Tulls Sharan Turf Mare Dash winning again by 1 ½ lengths with a 110SP. A win wouldn’t surprise the way she just keeps winning.

For my money the numbers are 5-9-2.

Good Luck to All Runners and I hope they all come back to the stables healthy!!!
