Explosive Storm Rallies For First Graded Win

Explosive Storm, apparently not pleased that she was discounted in the closing statements of the preview, harnessed that anger and transferred it into an explosive stretch run that culminated in an exciting head victory in the G3 Trail Mix Stakes. Termantia got the lead out of the gate, pressured by Knickers Off. White Flag settled back in third. At the halfway point she made her move, and took the lead, but Explosive Storm was coming on strongly from the back of the pack and overtook her just before the wire. It was the first graded victory for the 5yo Danzig mare, who is on a hot streak and has now won two stakes in a row. The final speed figure for the top two finishers was a 107. Knickers Off held on for third, with Fleetwood Gold and the favourite Wine And Whiskey also collecting cheques.
