Only eight line up for todays feature for the ladies over 8.5f on the turf course. Most though are in with a shout of the win according to the morning line.
DEPUTY HUNTER (DEPUTY MINISTER x A.P. INDY x MT. LIVERMORE)
Has won her last four races, including an impressive Grade II win latest over todays trip. She put up a 109 sp that day and with the drop in grade is going to take some beating. Sits near the back and finished withh a rattle. Top three at least.
STRATUSPHERE(BUDDHA x DIXIELAND BAND x SLIP ANCHOR(GB))
Also won last time out but that was in an allowance race. Has yet to reach the money in any of her recent graded runs with one recent third in a stakes her best. Looks up against it here.
IRISH IDOL(IRE) (NOT IMPOSSIBLE (IRE) x RHYTHM x SIR TRISTRAM(IRE))
One recent stakes victory but no recent races where she broke the 100sp figure, her best being a 98 in that stakes win. Again looks up against it today.
BUCK WILD (KINGMAMBO x NORTHERN DANCER x BUCKPASSER)
Has run some nice races this year, culminating in a grade III win latest with a 104 sp. She sits near the front and should get involved today. Can’t se her beating the favourite but should reach the top three.
APPLE CARBON (MARKS MILL x VICE REGENT x ADMIRAL’S VOYAGE)
Only one recent victory, eght races ago although that was a grade II. If she casn get back to that level she’ll be competative but recent races suggests she’ll struggle.
ONION GROUP (I’LL RAISE YOU ONE x PRIVATE ACCOUNT x T. V. COMMERCIAL)
The outsider here and rightly so, she not been competative in stakes races this year, or even an allowance latest and will be bringing up the rear.
SPICEGIRL (SOUTHERN HALO x BARKERVILLE x BUCKPASSER)
The joint favourite on the morning line based on some nice recent runs, but her sp’s and results have been below that of Deputy Hunter. Although she’s won at 8f and 8.5f, she looks to be crying out for a drop to 7f to me, based on her second last run where she wired the field to the three-quarter ploe and ran out of steam. Will be dangerous but i can’t see a win.
RIGID IN THE NIGHT (NIGHT SHIFT x CRAFTY PROSPECTOR x LEE DAVID)
Looks to be improving still and put up a nice race latest to finish second in a Grade III over todays trip. She looks as though she wants further and although she may becompetative today she won’t win. May get a top three spot.
Overall i can’t see past DEPUTY HUNTER today, she has the best recent record and recent sp’s. BUCK WILD can stay near the front for second with RIGID IN THE NIGHT pinching third.
