Worst Grade 3 Ever? or will APACHE PRINCESS turn out to be a champion!
Hello everyone and welcolme to victoria for the Grade 3 Down Under Magic for filles and mares to be ran over 11 furlongs on fast dirt for a prize pool of $125,000(2853.5316). Todays race could quite possibly be the worst ever field to contest a Grade 3 event with the highest ranked horse MAD SCIENTIST ranked at #247 in the division followed by APACHE PRINCESS at #354 not 1 other horse is ranked inside the top 1000. Not a single horse in this race has ever won a stakes race let alone a Grade 3 which makes me think the trainers would be very happy about the prospect of winning a Grade 3 with a horse that could not win an allowence any other time of year! To be fair however 1 or 2 of these horses could go on and do somthing in the future as most have not had many starts. I myself went through all nine of my stables to find a horse that could win this race but could not find one that would even compeate as all my top horses are male. So goodluck to all.

SADLER’S WELLS x GONE WEST x CAERLEON
Very good stable with over 100 wins in less than 600 races has been lucky enough to find such a weak race for his (or hers) up and coming 3yo filly. CLASSIC THREAT’s only stakes race to date was a 7.5 lenghth 5th to rising star SEEKING THE HAWK in The AUROR STORM Memorial-Stk over 6 furlongs then she came out and won an allowence over 9.5 furlongs which she won very easy and that makes me think the extra distance will be no problem and she must be rated highly amoungst this lot.

A.P. INDY x MR. PROSPECTOR x FOOLISH PLEASURE
after all I said in the first paragraph this could be the horse that is going places with 3 wins from 6 starts. one of the losses was on turf so we won’t count that one and the other 2 losses came at the hands of no #3 ranked BITER HOLLANDIA and #4 ranked ZYTOWN. The main queary as with all of them will be the distance. Which I think she will get as she didn’t lose ground against the top horses in the division. She has a great chance.

ERMINGTON PERFECT Current Owner: pigeon9 6/1
PLEASANTLY PERFECT x MACHIAVELLIAN x SIR GAYLORD
Stablemate to what could be champion 2yo ERMINGTON DROP, ERMINGTON PERFECT has had 3 starts in stakes races with not quite as much success as pigeon9 had hoped for but she ran a close 4th over 6.5 furlongs to future star WELL BRED. Her previous 2 starts gave her trainer some headaches, both races were over longer distances and she did not get within 10 lengths of the winner. With such a weak race pigeon9 thought it was worth another try to run her over a long distance but I can’t see her even getting close.

MINESHAFT x ILE DE BOURBON x NASHWAN
One of the best horses in this young stable but it will have to run a speed figure of about low 90’s to win this and it’s best is about 77 which gave it a nose victory in a starter allowence last start. Trainer will hope 3 horses breakdown so he might pick up some bp’s sorry bestobene2 but he could not catch a cold let alone these horses. no chance. Hint: Red Bull gives you wings!

PURE PRIZE x TALE OF THE CAT x JADE HUNTER
The most experieced and highest rated horse in the field is always in and around the money and is good enough to take out the race. MAD SCIENTIST has only ever had 1 start in stake company and that was a 3rd in The KING KONG Memorial-Stk as a 2yo over 8 furlongs. For some reason I believe the further the race the better this horse may go as long as she does not suffer from burnout she will be running on late.

RED RANSOM x DANEHILL x LAST TYCOON(IRE)
Finally broke her maiden 2 strats back and then followed it up with a good 2nd in allownece company, champions will be hoping she will improve enough to get the 11 furlongs. she does have the bonus of J Kohlmorgen in the sadle and will be in the finish but I think she is more of a place chance just to be on the safe side.

Well here is a trainer that knows what he is doing fatattack has had 246 wins with a 1 in 4 strike rate and he sadles up APACHE PRINCESS for her first crack at at the big time. After winning her last race by 5.5 lengths over 9 furlongs on a wet track she is screeming for the extra distacnce and with D Evans in the saddle the 4/1 is looking good to me if she gets a clear run in the straight she will Win.

Based On : TIRON(IRE) Current Owner: triska 7/2
STORM CAT x THEATRICAL(IRE) x CAERLEON
making only her 2nd attempt at stake or graded races ERREKA is comming into this race with a couple of nice victorys in allowence company and also looks to be screeming out for more distance. She has two big advantages on her side today as her trainer has over 100 wins and her jockey Z Skunk (or smelly as he is known) is having his career best year. The wide gate Won’t be a factor as she will sit on the pace and she must be considered a great chance.
Well after all that even though this race has no champions it does have some up and comming horsses that may go on to be champions.I can see CLASSIC THREAT and MAD SCIENTIST making the pace
with ERREKA ,ERMINGTON PERFECT and APACHE PRINCESS in a group behind the leaders with A FIRE INSIDE and GAL GONE WILD just behind those with PEDRO’S MISSION last where he will stay. I think we will see ERREKA set out after CLASSIC THREAT and MAD SCIENTIST at the 4 furlong pole with APACHE PRINCESS and A FIRE INSIDE flying down the outside and at the finish it is APACHE PRINCESS just beating A FIRE INSIDE and you can throw a blanket over CLASSIC THREAT, MAD SCIENTIST and ERREKA for 3rd.
