Has struggled in allowances at this distance and is outclassed here. Looks desparate for a drop down to 6-6.5f.
PEEPLES (DANZIG x FORTY NINER x HALO)
Bred in the purple and has been running like it- only out of the money on one occassion when clearly finding 10f too far. Has won a stakes and allowance with over 100 sp’s recently and may be ready for the step up in class. Will be trying to win it from the front, and may take some catching.
CAROLINA DREAMING (POINT GIVEN x DEPUTY MINISTER x NIJINSKY II)
Has been running in allowances over 9f and does not yet look ready for this. Also would seem to want further than 8.5f, maybe asfar as 10f. Not today.
OTHFLY’S MAMBO (KINGMAMBO x SADLER’S WELLS x BLUSHING GROOM(FR))
Impecably bred and the highest ranked horse here. Wil be taking on PEEPLES upfront for the lead, but that may not suit her as she has been tying up at the line recently. Nailed on top three but i think she may run herself out of this.
STORM FORCE (STORM CAT x MR. PROSPECTOR x THEATRICAL(IRE))
Best recent run was her latest, when just failing to hold on over 9f. Thats the first time recently that she tried to go from the front, and in any other race i’d suggest she do that again but not today against PEEPLES and OTHFLY’S MAMBO. she’ll get run off her feet. Top five at best.
TRIESTAR (OLD TRIESTE x SEEKING THE GOLD x WILD AGAIN)
Been running well in Graded and stakes company but only notched one recent win. Steady if nothing else but i think she’s up against it here.
IRISH IDOL(IRE) (NOT IMPOSSIBLE (IRE) x RHYTHM x SIR TRISTRAM(IRE))
Been running respactably in allowances with the occasional stakes run, but hasn’t run fast enough or won enough recently to suggest she can take a hand today.
BUCK WILD (KINGMAMBO x NORTHERN DANCER x BUCKPASSER)
Has won a Grade III this year, but has also thrown in some ordinary runs in allowances. Hard to assess but overall picture suggests not good enough to win.
RIGID IN THE NIGHT (NIGHT SHIFT x CRAFTY PROSPECTOR x LEE DAVID)
Has only won at allowance level and has been outclassed in Graded races so far. Not ready for this and will be outclassed again today.
PEEPLES to hold off OTHFLY’S MAMBO who’ll tire into third. Second for BUCK
