UDONTWANTNONE (SWISS YODELER x SECRETARIAT x DAMASCUS)
Was running in Graded company a while back without getting close and switched back to stakes level for last four runs. Has finished stronly in her last three races to get second so todays trip looks good. Likes to sit near the rear and looks a solid stakes runner, the worry for me is the ordinary runs at previous Graded attempts. Has an outside chance.
SPANISH BUDA (A.P. INDY x DUSHYANTOR x PANCHO VILLA)
Only five runs for this girl and she’s shown steady improvement. This looks her best distance but she has yet to run in a stakes and this is a massive class rise for an allowance winner. Has loads of potential but this looks to hot a race yet. Not today.
TOO CLOSE (MENHAL x SEATTLE SLEW x A.P. INDY)
Another with loads of potential, she is the youngest in the race at three. Won going away over 9f latest in a stakes, this may now be too short for her. Also has yet to break the 100sp barrier, although she has been running in stakes since her 2Yo days. Again too high too soon.
BETA CAT (MISWAKI x STORM CAT x GREY DAWN II)
Winner of a Grade III recently over 8f, she has some nice recent runs. Never seems to get home at beyond 8f though (including four recent tries at 8.5f) so thats a bit of a worry. Will lead or sit just off the front and will get a top three finish, the question is wether or not she can hold on for the top slot.
MS. MAKER (EMPIRE MAKER x MR. PROSPECTOR x DAMASCUS)
Bit of a mixed year, ran two brilliant races over 8 and 8.5f including a 109sp in a Grade III and then ran dismally in the Equinics. Anothe rso so run followed (like so many of the Equinics runners) and the question today is can she bounce back over her optimum trip. Will sit just off the pace and pounce on the line. Big chance.
RAIN DANCING (STORM CAT x MR. PROSPECTOR x ROBERTO)
Was running some pretty ordinary races until her last two when she just exploded. Stepped up from stakes and allowances to a Grade I she ran a blinder for fourth (closing) over todays trip and followed that with another decent run over 8f latest. Another with a big shout, she will be colsing late. Top five.
MOGUER (E DUBAI x STORM CAT x HOIST THE FLAG)
Another with some nice stakes runs who’s been a disapointment when stepped up to Graded company. This looks too hot for her now, and she might make top five at a push.
QUIET GLORY (BUDDHA x MISWAKI x DIXIELAND BAND)
Might be the one to beat today, Has been improving steadily and has ruin three really nice rases recently, including a second in a Grade I over todays trip latest. Likes to sit near the front and will take some beating today. First or second.
CARSON’S CAT (CAT THIEF x DYNAFORMER x CARSON CITY)
Some ordinary alloweance runs until her last- a good fourth in a Grade III over todays trip. Best when leading she could get away before the main runners can get close, if her last run wasn’t a lifetime best and one-off. Can sneak into the top three if ridden from the front.
CADDILAC MOON (UNBRIDLED’S SONG x KRIS S. x NATIVE DANCER)
The other main player for me, she would win this at her pre-Equinics level, even if this looks short of her best trip. Her run after the equinics was also very good, which leaves her latest poor run a mystery. If she wasn’t injured (unlikely since it was only 2 weeks ago) and if this isn’t too short since her last run, she will take some beating.
For me several marks against CADILLAC MOON means that QUIET GLORY can take this won, with Carsons Cat sneaking third.
