1. 

BLACK AVENUE from the buzzsaw stable, get Shortridge n the mount and goes off at 5/1.She has been in teh money a lot lately but at shorter distances concentrating on races that are in the 6 furlong length. She went 99 at 7F last out and on her best day could compete here. The odds are low for her chances though and I would pass if I were betting.

2. 

LADY OF ROME(IRE) of cougar fame, gets the man himself J. Drozd. Drozd wins at an unbelievable 24.1%. This 79th ranked filly has 10 career wins but hasn’t won since 2678. Out of Giant’s Causeway is more than capable of breaking the century mark and will likely try and close on the leaders on the stretch. She has a real shot here and has to be considered in all exotics.

3. 

ENCRYPTION from the bluebayou stable is an interesting filly. She is the 86th ranked sprinter, and last won on this track under the ride of Drozd in week 2755.  A repeat of that race would ensure a win. However, the switch of jockeys to Hudkins will certainly have a negative effect. The Cryptoclearance filly has 10 career wins and will run on this track for the 4th straight time. I predict she goes home unhappy.

4. HOTRUSH, the top rated Tabsaco cat bred of her age group receives a repeat ride from C. Donofrio, whom guided her to a place finish in 2804. With 7 career wins, rcdlogan hopes to return to form in this minor stakes. She is the favorite at 5/2 and it would be hard pressed to come up with a strategy to beat her.  We’ll know right away if she’ll be a factor because during her best runs she sits right off the pace. 

5. THUNDER N’ RAINBOWS gets the finkman as the jockey and looks for back to back wins. she ships in fro malaysia and goes off at 4/1. Happybarn must have viewed this as a winnable field to have shipped her that far, but alas she is probably a step behind the best here. Out of Thunder Gulch and ranked 111 would need the rpefect ride to have a shot.  She is probably the early speed, so it is not unrealistic to think if she doesn’t get challenged she could go wire to wore.

6. DARK STORM COMING out of the darkangel stable with Johnson about seeks to be the dark horse in this equation, pun intended.  She doesn’t seem cable of running like she did at times last year. If she returned to that form she could be any of the horses on any given day. It would be something for her to do that here, but i don’t think it will happen.

well, I’m -700 sheckles on the year and will place a 500 trifecta bet on Hotrush-Lady of Rome-Encryption…..so you should probably bet on something else. 🙂
