Ransom tackles the boys for a possible Breeders Bowl Start and a #2 ranking

Ransom tackles the boys for a possible Breeders Bowl Start and a #2 ranking.

Hotshot 2yo Filly Ransom comes to Athens to take on the boys for a hopeful Breeders Bowl voyage. 6 2yo’s line up here over 8.5F on Turf with $75,000 up for grabs in the Two Pair Stakes.

1 – Panther Delta – 2yo Colt – 5/1

2 (1-0-1) $22,696

Singspiel x Tasso x Known Fact

Turf Classic Rank: N/A

Panther Delta is the first of two Singspiels in this race. In his first start he ran 3^rd in a Maiden Special Weight over 4.5 Furlongs on Turf. They went 53 seconds and a 65 Speed Figure losing by only 1 ¼ lengths. Last Start over a Mile he won a Maiden Special Weight with a 74 Speed Figure, blitzing the field by 2 ¼ lengths.

2 – Mull Of Kint – 2yo Colt – 4/1

3 (1-1-1) $30,344

Singspiel x Mt. Livermore x Believe It

Turf Classic Rank: N/A

The second Singspiel in the race Mull Of Kint enters the race at 4/1. After debuting on dirt running 3^rd in a MSW the trainer switched surfaces and went for a 6F Turf MSW where he ran second place losing by ¼ of a length with a 70 Speed Figure. Last Start trainer flurgen2 entered him in another Maiden Special Weight which this time was over 9F in the United Kingdom. He bolted in winning by over lengths in a 14 horse field in 1:52 4/5 and a 73 Speed Figure.

3 – Azroc Of Humour – 2yo Filly – 5/2

2 (1-0-0) $16,500

Distorted Humour x Sadler’s Wells x Guilty Consience

Turf Classic Rank: N/A

Azroc Of Humour is the first of two fillies in this stakes race. She debuted in a Maiden Special Weight versing 2yo Fillies over 6F on turf. In debut she came out victorious with a 71 Speed Figure. Next Start trainer jumped her up into the wolves. She was entered in the Grade 3 Treasure Got Ripped Off Stakes over 6.5F for 2yo Fillies. She ran a strong 6^th place nearly 6 lengths back. She will appreciate the step down in quality and hopefully will enjoy the 8.5F

4 – Chevron – 2yo Colt – 20/1

2 (0-0-1) $2,432

Viscount x Diktat x Cacoethes

Turf Classic Rank: N/A

Chevron son of Australian Sire Viscount is the longshot of the field. Don’t know why the trainer has put him in here after a 6^th/last in a stakes and then a 5^th placing in a 7 horse field in a Allowance. Both were with 58 Speed Figures and should be competing in Claimerville.

5 – Careful Prayer – 2yo Colt – 3/1

1 (0-1-0) $11,300

Northern Spur x Caerleon x Wild Again

Turf Classic Rank: N/A

The horse with only 1 start Careful Prayer is a top contender here. In his one and only start he ran a well done second place in a Maiden Special Weight over 6F Turf. He ran 2^nd by 1 ¼ lengths and popped out a nice 73 Speed Figure. Jumping up in distance by 2.5 Furlongs and I am not sure if he will get the distance.

6 – Ransom – 2yo Filly – 2/1

4 (2-0-2) $65,508

Red Ransom x Danehill x Machiavellian

Turf Classic Rank: 88

This daughter of Red Ransom is versing the boys here for some extra Stakes Points I guess. If she wins here she’ll move to 17 stakes points and will jump 87 placings to be ranked #2. Won a allowance over 5.5F on turf in debut with a 70 Speed Figure by only ¼ of a length. Next start the trainer tried her over Dirt and faced the distance of 5 Furlongs in a 5 horse field. She ran 3^rd with a 68SF and lost by 1 ½ lengths. The trainer obviously knew that she liked Turf better then dirt. Next start she versed the colts in a Stakes Race with only 5 horses filling in the race. It was over 6 Furlongs on a Firm Turf Track. She ran 3^rd by 2 ¾ lengths and a 71 Speed Figure. Next start she went to Dubai when she entered a 12 horse Allowance over 7.5 Furlongs on Turf. She won with a 80 Speed Figure by 1 ¾ lengths. Coming off a 5 week break I really think this filly can overcome the boys and maybe start a run to the Breeders Bowl Turf Juvenile Filly race.

Selections

Ransom should over come this 6 horse field against the boys for the win.

Azroc Of Humour im going for 2^nd place after a 6^th place finish in a G3.

For 3^rd I think Careful Prayer can improve of his Debut.
