The ADDUL EN LA FUTURE STAKES

The Featured race this past Saturday which was billed as the third go around between SPARE T(IRE)  and MICHELANGELO(IRE) certainly  didn’t disapoint,  Only Five Horses took to the track for the headline event The ADDUL EN LA FUTURE STAKES going a mile on a firm turf course.  It was a nice spring day which brought the crowds outside to see the horses enter the gates in front of the start finish line.  When the gates opened HUDDIE took to the lead right from the start and opened up a daylight lead as the rest of the field settled into position,  SILVERWELLS who broke from the rail was content to save ground and let the front runner go it alone, with the rest of the five horse field just trying to stay out of trouble.  As they entered the far turn HUDDIE who had opened up almost a 5 length advantage was showing signs of starting to labor and the real running was just getting under way.  MICHELANGELO(IRE) who was never more than a length in front of the favorite SPARE T(IRE) started to make a big run on the leader but was being matched stride for stride by SPARE T (IRE) and by the time they had collared HUDDIE at the top of the lane it had become a two Horse race with SPARE T (IRE) inching away with every step to prevail by a length in a very exciting finish.  MICHELANGELO(IRE) was clearly second best beating SILVERWELLS for the show position by nearly 6 lengths. The ground saving trip helped the latter hit the board. 

SPARE T (IRE) wins his fifth race from ten starts and up’s his earnings for trainer super28 to $456,000.  He ran the mile in 135.1/5 for a 101 SP.  Congratulations to his connections and best of luck with his future races as he continues to assend the 3yo leader board on the grass.  He is number 12 after that game effort.
