Short Female Sprint Grade III
1. 12176 ELSINORE wombat 9/2. A 5yo mare by Danehill with 16 wins from 36 starts with over $2 mil earned, also is the #1 ranked in this division. She’s tried this distance 15 times and has 7 wins. Had a 5 race win streak going at this distance last year, all in graded races. In her 1st start this year she ran in a 6f stakes finishing 4th then LTO finished 4th in a 7f G1 race. Her SP’s have dropped a little this year and with the amount of starts she could be going downhill, but she still looks better than most in here, I expect a win or top 3.
2. 72916 BLUES BUDA click 8/1. A 6yo mare by Scatmandu. In 42 career races she tried this distance on turf only 3 times. She had a 2nd and 4th as a 3yo, now as a 6yo this year she raced in a G2 race at 6f and picked up 2nd. Has won 4 of her past 6 turf races consisting of allowance and stakes. Failed LTO at 6.5f in a G1, but if she can run back like she did in that G3 race, she could collect a check here.
3. 23776 SEEKING STEPHEN earthsong 11/1. A 4yo filly by Stephen Got Even with 10 wins from 25 starts. She’s raced at this distance 3 times as a 2yo winning, a 3yo winning, and this year as a 4yo in her last race finishing 3rd in a stakes. Looked like she was gonna get a lot better coming into the year but has stayed about the same, running 90+ SP’s. Likes the wet track but this is dry, so I don’t think she could get the win here.
4. 92771 WORLD OF TROUBLE(IRE) zwylde 9/1. A 4yo filly by Giant’s Causeway, has 5 wins from 20 starts. She has tried this distance 3 times with a win in a allowance, 2nd in a stakes and most recently this year a 3rd in a G3. After some average dirt races last year she has run on turf in all 5 of her last races where she has never finished worse than 3rd. She is probably one of the only more deeper closers in here and there are many speed horses in here, I could see her winning this or making the top 3.
5. 40227 HEADACHE MACHINE prppanther 4/1. A 8yo mare by Spectacular bid, is the oldest mare in here and also is the 4/1 favorite here. In 38 career races she’s only tried this distance on turf 2 times, both as a 3yo, getting 3rd in a allowance and a 6th in a G3. As a 4yo she got much better running triple digit SP’s in 9 of 12 races, all of them in route races though. As a 5yo she ran once, which was in a 6.5f stakes where she won easily and got a career high 113 SP. Took off for her 6yo and 7yo year, and has raced twice now as a 8yo. Both were 7.5f races in allowance and stakes which she won, if she still has her form she will win, or make the top 3.
6. 63005 HOLLABACK GIRL super23 10/1. A 4yo filly by Danzig wioth 4 wins and 5 second’s from 12 starts. She’s raced at this distance twice breaking her maiden last year then winning a allowance this year. Looks to be a improving filly, just won a 6.5f stakes LTO with a 103 SP. She a near the pace/midpack runner, she might have a upset chance to win maybe.
7. 29372 LISTEN TO GOVE repository 14/1. A 5yo mare by Mutakddim. She’s run at this distance 4 times, all in stakes company and has 1 win from last year where she got a career high 102 SP. Has run twice this year but both were about average races, both came in route races but she looks more a sprinter. I think however I would pass on here since her SP’s aren’t up there yet.
8. 11322 ANUBIS WARRIOR vampire1 9/1. A 4yo filly by Forest Wildcat. She’s tried this distance 5 times with a 2nd in a G2 and 3 wins in stakes competition, all from last year. Has run 3 times this year on turf with 2nd’s and a 4th all in stakes races. She is a definite front runner, couple of times she’ll just get the lead and pull away from the field, but with field coming up full of frontrunners, he chances aren’t looking too good.
9. 87145 DANA CAT lawdro 5/1. A 5yo mare by Polish Navy is the 24th rank mare in this division and has 16 wins from 34 starts. She has never however tried this 6f distance in her career. Closest she’s come at running this distance was as a 3yo winning a 6.5f stakes then finishing 5th in a G3 as a 4yo. She looked very good at the end of her 3yo year and most of her 4yo year. However her SP’s started to drop a bit at the end of last year. She has had 2 starts this year the first was a 7f stakes win with a 102 SP and LTO a 3rd in another 7f stakes. Is a midpack runner and a closer type, if she can regain her form from early last year, she’ll be the winner.
10. 83225 STARINSKY txbred 17/1. A 4yo filly by Star Programmer, she’s the 19th ranked in this division, that the second best rank in here yet she is the longest shot? Well she had a very nice 2yo year and an ok 3yo year with a major win in a 7f G1 race. Since then though she has 2nd place finish in a G2 last year but hasn’t done well in most of her races and may be past her peak. Has 4 races this year all with low to mid 90 SP’s. Maybe she could possibly collect a check but don’t expect a win.
11. 57322 GRAND SEB(IRE) noitsabes 17/1. A 5yo mare by Grand Lodge has 6 wins from 16 starts. She’s had 1 6f race as a 3yo and came in 4th on a wet track. Had a good stretch middle of last year winning 6 of 8 turf races, hasn’t won any races in her last 5 though. She has a couple of 2nd’s and 3rd in stakes races but hasn’t won any and her SP’s are ok but I don’t think there good enough to win this race, she’ll have to run a career best to do something here.
12. 37477 DANPROSTIC sagreat 13/1. A 5yo mare by Crafty Prospector. In 36 career races she has only raced on turf twice. As a 2yo finishing 6th at 7f and as a 4yo finishing 10th at this distance in a allowance race. Has had a good year so far with some decent SP’s, but 3of those 4 races this year were on dirt and wet tracks and she has neither of that in this race. Will probably pass on her.
