This weeks ungraded stakes race in Ontario is The HOGA LIVES Memorial. This 7.5 furlong race carries a purse of $75,00 dollars for fillies and mares 3 years old and up running on the fast dirt track. There are 8 entries for this event with Gone Golfing being the morning line favorite.

#1 48271 Gone Golfing- Trainer callaway has R. Heenan up aboard the (Gone West X Blushing Groom(FR) X Sovereign Dancer) 5yr old mare. With odds of 9/5 she is clearly the favorite to win this event. This will be her 24th start but only her 3rd sprint. Of her 8 wins 7 of them have came while running a mile or more. The last race this mare was in was back in week 2475 in which she finished 6th in a 7 furlong G2 race posting a 103 sp. If she can run like that again in this race it could be hers for the taking.
#2 34920 Oct Phylllis– This 3yr old (Miswaki X Northern Dancer X Poker) miss gets top jock B Renfroe steering for the trainer Al. Her last two starts at this distance were in ungraded stakes races in which she won posting sp’s of 99 and 101. Look for her to be a threat in the stretch.
#3 89092 Palmita– P Ashmore is handling the reins for palmislands 3yr old (Event Of The Year X Seeking The Gold X Crimson Satan) filly. She is dropping back down in distance after running a 79 over 10 furlongs. Her last start at this distance was a win in an ungraded stakes race with an sp of 101. She seems to like being close to the front so if she gets a good pace look for her to hang tough in the stretch.
#4 48602 Lily With The Hawk– This 6 yr old mare ( Agincourt X Secretariat X Tom Fool) is leaving with odds of 8-1for trainer waremblem3 and jockey C Munice. Her last start was at the same distance with a 97 sp. She should be around for a piece of the pie at the end as long as the trip from South Korea didn’t take to much out of her.
#5 4266 Miss Spinnicus- The second favorite has T LeVan up for trainer oddsonpop. Going away at 3-1 the (Spinning World X Damascus X The Minstrel) 4yr old filly has shown in her past few starts she can cover this distance rather quickly. She is two starts removed from a 105 win in the 7 furlong G2 Distaff Breeder’s Bowl Cap. Look for her to be on the board in this one, if not in the winners circle.
#6 47321 Wet Rat- Trainer mattbarn has N Linville up on the 10-1 3yr old filly. The ( Changeintheweather X Crusader Sword X Alydar) miss has shown some good speed in allowance races but might be out-classed in this race.
#7 80035 Storm Kasey- M Judge gets the mount on the tallin trained 5yr old mare. Going off at odds of 4-1 this royaly bred (Storm Cat X Forty Niner X Bold Ruler) mare has the breeding to run well. She likes to be up there with the leaders so look for her to be right there at the wire
#8 56193 Double Dance II- Going off at odds of 9-1 this 5yr old (Danzig X Affirmed X Nodouble) mare is trained by viperthree. Although she won an allowance last time out this veteran of 45 races looks to be an also ran in this field. She is going to need to find some of her older form to be considered a threat.
This looks to be a battle of some young fillies and older, more experienced mares.The odds maker likes 1-5-7. But will it be the youger legs or more experienced ones that will win?
