URC loves Kimugle Too
It is quite inspiring to have players like Kimugle still around, reminding us of the joy of the path instead of the pleasure of glory. Through them, we are reminded of the purpose of the exercise at hand: the enjoyment of the experience rather than the frustration of our dreams. They are, therefore, the champions that go unrecognized.
I just had to talk to him and see if I could catch a glimpse of the goals that move him, and was quite amazed, that they were in the fun of the game all by itself. To him, the goal had already been reached.
I’m almost embarrassed by virtue of his simple wisdom.
KIM: I started playing derby fever in April 2013, and loved the game from the first look. I knew nothing about horse racing when I started playing. I have 136 stables now, and I have so many stables because I want horses running every day. It’s pretty easy managing the stables, I have a very good memory and most of my horses are just point getters, so I just enter them when they are ready. I have not accomplished a lot yet, I have only won 1 stakes race with Mining Bitcoin. Mining Bitcoin is probably my best horse, but I have a few 2 y.o’s that look like they can do ever better in the future. My goal for the future is to have fun in the game, I have no special races that I want to win. Another goal for me is to breed some good horses and improve my stables. Maybe I’m not the normal derby fever player, but I think the game is the best I have ever played. What makes it special for me it the people I have met in here. They are so helpful and friendly.
bb: What do you find special with this game when compared to others on the Internet?
KIM: The special thing about this game is that you are able to play it on many levels. And for me, even though I knew nothing about horse racing it was like getting my own horses. Setting up a race stable is also fun. At first my big thrill was placing horses into races, now I think breeding is the best thing in the game. The thing that makes it way better than other games I have played on the Internet is the group of people in the game. I remember the first time I entered the sim chat, I thought what will the others think, regarding a guy who knows nothing about horse racing, but I was welcome with open arms and every one wanted to help me. I can not say how grateful I am for all the people who have helped me and still are helping me, thanks a million!
So there it is folks, no deep philosophy, no stress, no bitter frustrations. Given our day and age, it’s almost surreal, and his no-holds-barred approach to the relentless chipping of the sculpture has been noticed by the ‘top dogs’ of our URC fraternity, such as vice chairman of the chair Tops, who had this to say about our beloved Kimugle:
TOPS: Kim has been a huge asset not only to URC, but to the sim. As eager as he has been to learn the ropes, he has been just as eager if not more, to teach others the things he is learning. He is that rare breed of new player that is willing to ask questions and just as willing to give his advice. He has only been in the sim for a short time, but ultimately is a guy I’m proud to call my friend already, both in and outside the sim. He has just started to get his feet wet in terms of potential. You can see some of that this year when you compare his breeding stock to last year and you can see the amount of improvement he has made. That patience will be paying off for him shortly. He runs a huge operation and does so very efficiently. He’s already exhibiting qualities such as patience with his horses that many veterans lack and you can tell once he gets his feet under him (that comes with starting out), he will be a wonderful player in this sim. Even more than that and a bigger asset to the sim is that he is already a wonderful person here.
I couldn’t have said it better myself, and today I am honored to cyber-salute you and your kind Kim, simply because without you all, there is no game.
Well deserved!!
I can relate to his attitude. Having fun and enjoyment is #1 and yes, the people here make it all the more fantastic!!
Salute to you Kim. Best of luck at the track and the breeding grounds.

Billy, thank you for shining light on one of the nicest people I have met in the game.
“Kimmy” has been a shining star ever since he joined URC. He came in knowing nothing about horses or horse racing, he just wanted to learn how to play a game. He was very persistent, and kept asking questions on how to do this, what is that and so on. He would PM or email me at least once a day asking, “Is this a good breed? Does this horse go well with this horse as a DS?” He is always in our chat room looking for someone to talk horses and is genuinely a nice person. He is responsible for the resurgence of URC as he has recruited most of our residents.
Now, 136 stables and a year later he has a good grasp on what he is doing and the sky is the limit. He has listened to what he was taught and has applied it well. He has a stakes win already and a decent shot in a G3 coming this Sat. I think he will be a dominant player in years to come. I am glad to say he is in URC as we all love him here.
I already had heard good words about the Kimster – nice to read this article.
136 stables – sheesh !!!!! Kim is the new Manni in the stable dept ???
great job kim
