The Barb’s Nureyev Special
Well the horse that I wasn’t so sure about in Jaca won easily in the end with a very comfortable ¾ length win over Celestial Reef. Small field but Jaca got a good jump anyway and ran in third place for much of the race until when in the straight she took over and went for the win. Celestial Reef all class once again and so so consistent ran in 2nd place and finished there as well. Hit the front in the straight but not for long as she was overtaken fairly quickly. Still a very good run though. Blackpool Lights , the debut at this level and with only 3 races under her belt came through as I suggested in third place. Was leading early on after a very good start from the gates but couldn’t really keep the pace finishing some 8 lengths behind the winner and needs to get some more speed happening if she wants to stay in Stakes. Still a very good first up performance at this level though. Alborada did seem to be bothered in the end by the extra distance. Was running in good position just behind the top 3 first up but couldn’t keep up with them really specially the leading two. Perfecta was not so perfecta today as she jumped last, ran last and came in last. Maybe next time…
