WALLY’S DEHERE Nears the Top Ten 3yo Fillies!
The South Dakota Oaks Stakes
Grade IIA mile on Fast Dirt
$250,000
Fillies and mares, 3 years old
WALLY’S DEHERE . looked like a jet squadron leader as she led a triumvirate of three year old fillies down the stretch and onto the board at the South Dakota Oaks today. She moved up from from 20th to number 11 in the rankings and has positioned herself for many big races coming up in the season.
The big brown filly is the pride and joy of trainer DOA and has now won five of eleven and ten of those races have been in the top three. She raised her earnings to over $615k and and ran a 100 SPF for the second straight race. I will be surprised if we don’t see a half brother or sister to this filly from Dam Wally’s Prospect after this girls wonderful start to her career.
BENNY BEING BENNY jumped out to what looked like an insurmountable lead in this race. She started out with fast fractions and continued to add to her lead until she was nearly seven lengths ahead. If her jockey looked over his shoulder he would have seen our winner leading two other horses that were cutting a swath through the field. Behind WALLY’S DEHERE were GENNA LOU HOO and GROOMED TO ROMP T who finished second and third. They wer fast today but not as fast as our winner.
It should be a fun year to watch the continued progress of WALLY’S DEHERE and I can’t wait to see it.
