The CAPOTE SADIE Challenge
1 Fleetwood Gold Comes into this race in the best form of her career, off a 2-¼ length victory in the “The MORE KICK Special” where she covered the 6.5 furlong distance in 1:15.3/5 good enough for a 105 speed number in that event. This 5 year old mare by Strike The Gold comes into this one on a 2 race win streak boasting a record of 4 wins, 2 seconds and 1 third in her last 7 with a stakes win included in those stats. With her extremely high percentage at both the distance and on the dirt I would think this mare will emerge from mid-pack at the 4 furlong mark and be the one with the best late kick and hit the wire 1st to keep her win streak going. Trainer Fleetwood teams up with Hawkins today a combo that is as good as any on paper, as Fleetwood has is off to a great start in 06 winning 23% of his starts and Hawkins is a 17% winner to this point in 2006. 3 Knickers Off Comes into this event off a stakes win much like my top choice in here, she won the 6 furlong “The LOUIS’S JUMPER Memorial” in 1:10 flat posting a 97 Speed Number winning by ¾ of a length, An 8 time winner in 29 races she has a stakes win to her credit as well as finishing 2nd in a grade 3 event with a 108 speed number that day is the best on the page. Trainer Chongtong is off to a rough start to 06 as this mare has his only win to date out of 19 starts this season good for only 5%, he teams up today with Frazetto a jockey that ranks midpack here in Oregon with only 4 winners in 54 races for a win percentage of only 7% this mare still has the ability to be on the board here but I will rank her only second best. 5 Peanut is another filly that comes into this event off a win, and with top 2 finishes in each of her last 5 she makes her one that can contend in this very competitive field of 7 fillies & mares. Her latest form states that she’s ready to handle these types again with 3 wins in her last 4 starts all with 100+ Speed Rating, yet she hasn’t won a stakes event in over a year, so she will definitely need her best effort to compete with my top 2 choices in here. Tbrag sends this filly out as his year is off to an incredible start, with 16 winners already in 06 Tbrag has seen 48% of his starters hit the winners circle, G Body gets the jockey assignment today on this filly, as he is also off to a good start winning 12% of his 136 mounts this season. Other Notes: Bluegrass Bell is the modest 3-1 favourite in here, she has been great since igloo claimed her for $20,000, but has yet to win a stakes event, she is one that can contend here but I can’t take her for a top 3 finish against proven stakes winners. Zens Free To Dance is listed at 8-1, she was a stakes winner 3 back she scored at today’s distance from off the pace, and is one that is a contender and her price of 8-1 makes her the Value Play in this group
