MICHIGAN – DUBAI DESTROYER has been installed as the 9/5 favorite over 6 other rivals in The STANDARD PLUTO Special. The race will be contested over a firm turf course going 9 furlongs for a purse of $75,000. He will have to take out a couple of past Grade III winners to get the job done this week.
PP1 DUBAI DESTROYER (trained by lenny4) – 9/5

-The Destroyer makes his 3rd straight start on the grass after his first 15 were on the main track. The 4 year old son of E Dubai is 2 for 2 on the green and in his last start spun a near lifetime best 108sr in a straight allowance. Stretches to 9 panels this week and the trackman has installed him as the early morning favorite.
PP2 HORDE RUN A FOUL(IRE) (trained by pickindim) – 3/1
(NORTHERN SPUR(IRE) x PLEASANT COLONY x TRI JET)
-It’s all about the start for this 4 year old colt. His best races are on the engine and if he can get loose on the lead and open up about 5 turning for home, it may well be over. Doesn’t seem to always break cleanly and that will be the key. Owns a Grade III win in the Misfired Bogie Stakes 5 starts back.
PP3 ZABWELL(NZ) (trained by youngnhung) – 6/1
(ZABEEL(NZ) x SADLER’S WELLS x SHIRLEY HEIGHTS(GB))
-This 5 year old New Zealand bred tries his luck in a stakes after a fly from behind allowance score LTO. Has one 2nd place finish to show for previous stakes efforts. Seems in a bit deep for the win but could pick up lesser spoils.
PP4 YKICKAMOOCOW (trained by sarasans) – 20/1
(DANZIG CONNECTION x GOOFALIK x GEIGER COUNTER)
-This one burned up a lot of money LTO and would seem to be off his best form. That being said, his best form is probably not enough to win here this week. Pass here.
PP5 RICKASHAY(GB) (trained by landen2) – 9/2
(SLIP ANCHOR(GB) x LIT DE JUSTICE x CHICANERY SLEW)
-Nice claim for trainer landen2. Four races removed from a Grade III win in the Carlton Fisk Handicap, RICKASHAY(GB) landed in a $35,000 claimer after three straight dreadful starts. All this guy needed was a little freshing up and trainer landen2 made sure that he got it. His M.O. is to be very good or very bad and not much in between. Which horse shows up this week?
PP6 METROPOLITAN (trained by dcindy) – 9/2
(T. M. OPERA O x HANSEL x SELKIRK)
-Stakes placed, nice horse, but seems a tad off form at the moment. Should respond to the shorter distance but don’t know if there is enough under the hood to get it done here this week.
PP7 RED SHARPIE (trained by fireguy) – 8/1
(RED RANSOM x NUREYEV x ROBELLINO)
-The only 3 year old in the race was recently very sharp but the last two raise fitness questions. Already has 4 stakes wins to his credit in his short 11 race career. Well bred and should see good things down the road but this week might be asking a lot.
