Bob The Cob Snags No Cal Feature

Bob The Cob was all that and more Saturday while annexing the Paris Cap Memorial by two and a quarter widening lengths over a stubborn Bestest(ire) and pacesetter The Prospect who was forced to settle for the show.  Co-favorites Dan Colony and Final Request brought up the rear.

Big Bob was taken in hand early by leading rider Cherie Winter and trailed the field for almost a mile and a half.  At that point Marsattack’s pride and joy the was still running easily as he ambled past a tired Dan Colony but still had to find five lengths and pass four rivals in order to win.

At the top of the lane jockey Winter angled the seven year old son of Geri out for the drive and the big stallion found another gear.  Bob The Cob gobbled up the ground like Fabman at an Italian buffet and his mighty surge propelled him into the winners’ circle for the twenty-sixth time in his illustrious career.

The victory pushed Bob’s career earnings to $1,346,861.  The mile and three quarters was completed in 3:02 4/5 giving Bob a speed rating of 93.
