Youngsters in the Senior Don(GB) Memrial

While racing’s top sprinters get ready for the Grade III Middle of Nowhere Stakes, six youngsters will be giving their all in the $50,000 Senior Don(GB) Memorial Stakes for 2-year olds on the turf.

Here’s a look at the entrants:

1. Redwolf (Johannesburg x Topsider x Grey Dawn II) wired the field on this same course in his only start. The Stylez barns fires at a 13% rate may have found a good one here.

2. Spastic Zips (Zilzal x Lead on Time x  Cahill Road) won his maiden and an allowance for the cagey Jiger4 barn. Tries the lawn for the first time for a sire that has found great success there.

3. Fake Soup enters Millfly’s Soup  (Military x A.P. Indy x Roberto) in his sixth straight turf sprint.  Hard to argue against that strategy as the Soup has only finished out of the money once.

4. Maxibar has sent Kirby’s Legend (Uncle Abbie x Mutakddim x Gold Legend) out to run five times. He has one first and one second, but both are on the dirt and at a claiming price.  Two big changes for the homebred today.

5. Fall Down (Seven Rings x Ms. Ball (Lycius) x Nodouble) already has a graded win (Norfellow Stakes GIII) to his credit, and three wins for kid6. Has been in the money five of his six starts, but his detractors contend he is not getting faster fast enough.

6. Kirby Country (Cat Country x Fast Play x Compliance) is three for four on the grass, including a stakes win. The Kirby66 charge has twice won at long odds. Don’t dismiss here.
