Hello and welcome to what will be a great day here in in Louisiana. Today we have 2 very big grade 2 races the derby and the oaks with both to be ran over 8.5f on fast dirt. With all the big boys ranked in the top ten bypassing todays derby 2790.0514 to chase bluegrass glory, today gives a chance to a few of the up and comming horses to climb the rankings,Let’s have a look at the form guide and see if we can find the winner.

HEAVEN’S DOOR Current Owner: super26 MINESHAFT x FAPPIANO x BUCKPASSER 8/1
Nice little horse who has been racing very well in the past year, he is a 3 time graded place getter and has won every stake race he has been in (3 times). This is only his second start this year and with the nice break it should hold him in good sted for this. I expect to see him settle back in the field do he will need some pace in the race. Has a good chance.

Great run last start in the 7f Hutchingson Stakes-G2 where he won with a leg in the air and rated 100, That was by far the best win of his career, but in saying that he has a shocking recored over routes with only a 2nd place from 3 starts. He is going to sit back in the field but I think the distance will be to much for him.

Gun sprinter chasing his 2nd grade 2, a winner of the Vermont BB Juvenile-G2 as a 2yo this son of
AWESOME AGAIN has won 7 races in only 11 starts and only missed the money 1 time. he is comming of a last start 3rd in the The DEPUTY BINGO(GB) Memorial-Stk over 8.5f which was one of the worst runs of his career the other bad run was also over 8.5f only 3 starts back which makes me think
his maximum distance is 8 furlongs. He may be the favorite but he aint my pick!

This horse started out as a turf runner who won The OFF TILL STAR Bonanza-Stk and as a 3yo has been switched back to dirt and has ran ok without winning. I think if i were his trainer I would try to sit him behind the leader but he may get back in the field. I don’t think he can win this very tough race but I think I would like to see him back on turf. (lasthope give him another go on turf, because he is now 3yo his rating will go up and it is harder to find a good turf runner than it is dirt runner.)

One of the long shots who bit off more than he could chew last start in the Clinton Potts G1 finishing 14th. He has won before at stake level when he won The CAT BILL Bonanza-Stk over 8.5f but he only has a best sp of 90 and that won’t win this race.

This very well named colt ran an ok 10th in the George Wolf G1 in his 1st start as a 3yo. Finished off last year with his 2 best runs with a sp of 93 over 8.5f and a 97 over a mile with a win in the The SISTER’S KING Cap-Stk. If he can produce that kind form I think he has a good chance.

An inexperiecned colt who has just had a great win in The Sunset Stakes-Stk over 8.5f. He had a speed rating of 96 in that race which would almost win this race. Stable is chasing just it’s 4th win, one of his 3 wins was at stake level (I’ve been playing for a year and have not won a stake!) He is a great chance at huge odds

This is a classy colt who ran a great 3rd in the george Wolf G1 with an sp of 99 and is a 2 time stake winner.He has a very good recored at 8.5f and I would expect him to settle back in the field and make a big run down the outside. At 7/1 I think he is fantastic odds and he may just be the one to beat.

This touch gold colt has had 9 starts for only 2 wins but has managed to win $351,450 in stake money. Last start he ran a good 4th in the Sunny’s Prospector Stakes-G2b with a 92 sp and won a stakes race on delpenn champions day 3 starts back he is going to be just off the pace so he wants a slow speed he may be able to get a break on the backmakers and pinch the race but place only for me.

Very consistant performer who won 4 stakes races as a 2yo. He has had 2 starts this year both on wet tracks so I will be interested to see if he can better his 96 sp last start and I think he can. He is the real pace maker in this race and will try to go wire to wire. One of the best here.

First race this season for this Tapit colt who will be looking to improve on his 8th place on delpenn champions day. He has had plenty of time in the paddock of late and will be worth keepinig an eye on he may come back better than ever but this is a tough first up assignment but throw him in your trifectas.

Another great named horse who ran a very good race first up this season in the George Wolf G1 in which he ran 7th with a 95 sp. A former G3 winner who is improving as he gets older will be looking to sit in the first half dozen horses. With a great run in his first run as a 3yo I can see him running a place if not even a win. I give him a slight chance.

DEPUTY MINISTER 14/1
By far the best horse in the rfrankel stable MINISTER OF SMARTY has been racing very well at stake level without winning much he has finished 2nd in his last 2 races both a stake level but I don’t think he showed much improvment as you would like for a horse going from 2yo to 3yo races, so that is why I can’t see a win for him. I would wait and see if he improves before I would bet on him.

TOXICSUPERFREAKOUT

Very good horse who has improved out of sight as a 3yo winning his only 2 starts 1 at G2 and 1 at G3. With a 96 sp rating last start he will be fighting for the lead with TALE OF AUROR which will ensure a fast pace. i think he has a slight chance to win if he can hold out TALE OF AUROR for
the lead and then slow the pace down. He has a chance.

Well I think I can narrow the field down to 7 horses of those horses 3 faced each other in the George Wolf RING TONE,CLAN OF THE CAT and SO SLEW ME of which CLAN OF THE CAT was the best of those 3 we have 2 leaders TALE OF AUROR and TOXICSUPERFREAKOUT who will ensure a very fast pace and of those 2 I think I would go with TOXICSUPERFREAKOUT who looks slightly stronger than AUROR and that leaves HEAVEN’S DOOR and ZIP CITY DO DA of which I would just pick HEAVEN’S DOOR on experience.
We have got it down to 3 CLAN OF THE CAT, TOXICSUPERFREAKOUT and HEAVEN’S DOOR so after using the process of elimination I’m going to go with TOXICSUPERFREAKOUT who made the pace last start and ran 96 sp last start but he was pulled up near the line he was that far in front but this is such an open race anyting could win, if you want a bet take the 9/1 on the 14.
