The Fear The Avenger Memorial

In what can only be described as a battle of wills, chas stables True Phyllis and ladyeve2 stables Ravishing Russkie hooked up in a saddle to saddle.. stride for stride pacesetting dual that wasn’t decided until the wire. Breaking simultaneously from the gate the two 3yr olds broke in unison from the field of seven, running head to head.. shoulder to shoulder matching each others effort as a mirrored reflection. It was difficult to distinguish who had the lead, as they passed it back and forth over the 8f contest. A head bob here an extended stride there, the two were never more than inches apart. When they rounded the turn and hit the stretch astride each other the appreciative crowd roared it’s approval and encouraged both athletes to persist and pervail in their competition. Just 20′ shy of the wire True Phyllis gained a slight advantage when jockey  D. Ezelle encouraged her to change leads a second time with a sharp right hand crack of his whip. The Proud and True filly responded and caught Ravishing Russkie in air mid-stride and was a neck ahead when she and rider passed under the wire.

Lapdance ..aahhh..a true closer from the swikvett stables came thundering down the lane, intending and determined to eliminate a 6 3/4 length deficit, only to fall short of her goal by 1 1/2 lengths.

The time of the race was 1:36 3/5, the winner produced an 89 speed figure for her work.
