The Dubai Maruzensky(GB) Challenge

“Send me dead flowers at my wedding…..and I won’t forget to put roses on your grave” Jagger/Richards said it best and put it to music. zewango2’s Digging The Grave proved once again that an off surface is not a hindrance to a photo op. The Silver Ghost 4yr old colt posted his second wire to wire, back to back, victory over a wet turf course and did so in swift fashion, running the 6f (T) in 1:09 4/5 posting a 101 speed figure for her effort. Never tested, the Gr.I winning DTG was chased by a game In The Evening throughout, until the demanding pace wore him down. He was caught at the wire by a charging Reflected Glory2 who made up 5 1/2 lengths in a furious charge down the lane. He took place by a neck. His hot riding jockey B. Gates offered these comments. “He has a solid off track turf record, the rokeby stable folks advised me to let him run at ’em in the stretch…they felt that the shorter distance and track conditions would be to his advantage…he was ready to run…we were beat by a horse who is coming off a hugh Equinics win”.
