GRADE 3 FINNISH LINE STAKES
WELCOME TO FINLAND FOR THE 2005 RUNNING OF THE GRADE III
“FINNISH LINE STAKES”. THE DISTANCE WILL BE SIX FURLONGS
ON THE FIRM TURF COURSE FOR A PURSE OF $125,000.
We have a field of eight 2yo colts primed and ready to thrill the large
crowd expected for Saturdays festivities. Below are our entries in post order.
FLEET OVERTURE – (swale007) (AFLEET x DANEHILL x NIGHT SHIFT)
We could be looking at one of gatecrashers in the race right here. Colt
won the “MAT JOKER” against a small field, but showed continuous
each start. This Afleet colt loves to be up close if not cutting the pace.
Trainer SWALE007 found the key since changing surfaces. 3 starts on the
grass with 2 wins and a place accumulating 55 grand in purse $$. Ranked
43rd overall and looks to continue up the 2yo-ranking ladder.
MY OWN TURBO(IRE) – (gael1)
(BEST OF THE BESTS (IRE) x GIANT’S CAUSEWAY (IRE) x LAST TYCOON(IRE))
Colt is coming of a impressive 2nd in the “DALESBACK CUP”-G3 against a
solid field of 10 other combatants. Trainer has this one close early all starts.
Jockey Tinsley will be sitting chilly in the irons looking over his shoulder ready
to unleash the “TURBO” and get the jump on his challengers. You have
to respect the brush move and the fact that owner GAEL1 has this horse
ready to go all starts will have accurate instructions for his steed.
KEPLER STORM – (marre) (STORM CAT x MR. PROSPECTOR x SEATTLE SLEW)
Here is the current season leader!! The “STORM” fired a solid effort in the
G2- “LITTLE ONES JUVENILE” beating a full field deep in the lane. 7 weeks
later Trainer MARRE stretches out to 7 furlongs finishing a tough 3rd against
a resistant “PUB CRAWL”, which looked he backed them down at the quarter
to weather the storm. Pace will be a factor this race, if it is false, the
StormCat colt will be coming quick and with authority! Add the “EX” factor
and is a recipe for success.
FANTASTIC MUSE – (borden) (FANTASTIC LIGHT x DANZIG x RAINBOW QUEST)
Breaks maiden in his debut. Winning impressively beating 9 other rivals going
the distance of 5.5 furlongs in a cool 1:04 4/5. What comes to light is the
speed rating of 78 for a first effort. Colt repelled his first challenger then
corralled the pace setters in the lane. Fantastic Light colt my get the
jump on competitors, as he may be the first to attack the pace.
CAUSE OF FACTS(IRE) – (wilco)
(GIANT’S CAUSEWAY (IRE) x FUSAICHI PEGASUS x KNOWN FACT)
Began his career starting in the “PROSPECT FIRE Challenge” on the dirt.
Trainer WILCO changes up and attempts the turf for the second attempt
and scores a nice win cruising 6.5 furlongs in a respectable 1:18 3/5ths.
After watching his last race, You have to believe the FACTS, he has
wonderful upside potential.
WONDERBOY EDGE – (wonder5)
(SADLER’S WELLS x RAINBOW QUEST x NUREYEV)
2 for 2 lifetime. Graduates maiden, Steps through 1X, now goes for a Grade III
event trying the distance of 6 furlongs. Sadler’s Wells colt stalks the field
until an 1/8 of a mile to go and then unleashes a spirited stretch run. The
“WONDERBOY” will be looking to crack into the rankings and make his
presence known.
FUZZY RAINBOW – (dundey7) (RAINBOW QUEST x STORM CAT x DARSHAAN(ENG))
What comes after storms? “RAINBOWS”!!! Another well bred colt in the
race. Undefeated on the moss! Has the patented “wheels deals and goes
on bye” tactic. Every Jock has asked this horse to go, he gets down to
business. Patrons may see this one circle them all late for the top honors.
Trainer (dundey7) has a nice one here. We will be interested to see where
Jockey SU settles this one while waiting to explode.
VOSS HOLLANDIA – (hollandia4) (COZZENE x AKAABER x LION CAVERN)
I’ve you have been a Sims Owner for period of time, you will know that any
HOLLANDIA horse that goes to post can be tough as nails! COZZENE colt may
break the hearts of some of the warriors who may take him on to early, thus
fading into the sunset. We have seen it time and time again, there is always
a potential board hitter that tears up your trifecta’s to confetti!
Press the “ALL” button!
What a tremendous tight field. Good Luck to all owners!
See you at the races.
