The Fear The Avenger Memorial
Some say I do my best work in the dark…with the main MB down I’m in the dark. We have 7 three year old fillies ready to compete over the main track at a distance of 8f in The Fear The Avenger Memorial. The weather has been cold but dry here in the Northeast and the track is listed as fast. So without further fanfair “Let’s Roll!”.
The early line race favorite breaking out of post position (pp) #6 form the chas stable is True Phyllis. She’s a handsome filly by Proud and True who’s shown quite a bit of talent in her young career. She brings a perfect itm record of 9/5-2-2 into this event, inclusive of a 1/1 route record and $131K in earnings. Her form can be defined as solid as she’s 5/5 itm in recent work. Always the competator, P&T is a pacesetter capable of 90+ speed figures and is stakes proven. She’s hot hot hot and draws the services of a very talented jockey, D. Ezelle..count on her to be there at the wire.
At 7/2 from the arse stables, a chip off the ‘ol block, Arse Talent. The Alnaab sired filly is looking for her 1st two turn victory in this affair. She sports a 2/0-1-1 route record and she definitly has the breeding to contend here. She’s done most her running at the allowance level but that shouldn’t be an over riding factor Saturday. She likes to stalk the pace and has a very talented jockey in I. Booty. (rumor has it ..that I. Booty has petitioned to change his name to Mo Booty)
ladyeve2 stables sends out the versatile filly Rushing Russkie. This young athlete has shown the ability to win over the main track and the turf. Back to every day business after an Equinics challenge, the Great Notion filly has a stakes victory at the distance, has been graded stakes tested and has earned over $130K for her connections. She’s generated 90’s + speed figures and her 1:36 1/5 time for 8f is as good as any produced by this field. She’s another pace setter and is coupled with the top jockey G. Garbaccio…<= a dangerous combination.
Out of PP# 3 will bound pure rocker stables Indigo Flow. Q. Vett, a jockey at the pinacle of his game, will guide the 4/1 front running Smart Strike filly. She’s shown ability at two turns and her 1:36 3/5 time at the distance makes this duo a viable threat. Her three year old season is off to a solid start. (got to like that stable name)
nathndtroi stable’s Rosette is tabbed at 5/1. The 1st runner from the brood mare Tin Soldier has earned over $127K, it’s no wonder, she’s a Empire Maker filly. She has an improving turn’o foot but needs to prove the she’s capable of two turn results. Saturday’s field will show no mercy toward her when it comes to stamina, jockey S. Blade, who is hot hot hot, needs to find her best.
Ahhhh, such a dream, is Lap Dance. The Coronado’s Quest filly get’s her first try at a route distance. swikvett stables knows quite well that she can sprint. Her $127K in earnings will tell you that. They also know that the big..big money can be found around the second turn. So, J. Vardnell gets the call on the field’s only true closer. A fast pace will be to her liking.
The long shot at 20/1 is Game Is On. tasman stables sends out the Robellino filly in her quest to find her 06′ form. 0/5 in recent work the young athlete has a tendency to burn it up early and coast to the wire.
As with a young three year olds, they seem to improve from race to race and it’s hard to determine when a big effort is at hand.
