Aqlaam (Winner Grade 3 Jersey Stakes, 9 Starts: 4 – 1 – 2, £503,565) lost his battle against an infection of the guttural pouch during the summer. Shadwell farms quoted “The death of Aqlaam was a shattering blow to everyone at Shadwell. It was particularly hard as he was developing a very encouraging profile as a first season sire with a strike rate of around 40% winners from runners. We have three more crops to look forward to from Aqlaam and Shadwell will remain supportive of those breeders who have offspring still to come.”
