Seven Ladies To Dress Up for A Chance of a Photo

A mile and three eights (11f)             Firm Turf                    $55,000

Fillies and Mares        4 years old and up

Seven will be puttin’ on their ‘Sunday Best’ for this event.  Yes, I know- it will be run on Saturday, but where I am from, no one dresses up on Saturday.  The field consist of several front runners and the competition at the front of the pace may wear them all down- settin’ the stage for someone to sneak through at the wire.  So which of the seven is fixin’ to have their picture taken in the winner’s circle?

Now, for the field of seven for the NICE DRESS Challenge:

PP1

enlighten

Owner-

Pearljam

Jockey-

C Baynes

Odds

6/1

Fantastic Light x Sir Ivor

She brings in a nine race losing streak and during this streak, she has not really threaten the winner.  She may benefit from a trip against allowance competition as a confidence booster.

PP2

elephant(GB)

Owner-

Inzy3

Jockey-

P Manusky

Odds

5/2

In the Wings (GB) x Taiki Blizzard

She comes off of a strong finishing kick in a restricted allowance event.  This will be her second trip against stakes runners.  She is a stretch runner, so question is whether she will have enough left at the top of the stretch to make her move.

PP3

tk’s dynamo

Owner-

Citation

Jockey-

C Capper

Odds

7/1

Dynaformer x Sadler’s Wells

She is loaded with stamina and will not let the pace drag along too slow.  Last trip was a two-miler, so one hopes that she did not burn up too much on the lead in that event.  Stepping back to a more suitable distance should add to her chances.  Handicappers may choose to jump on her bandwagon after seeing the morning line odds.

PP4

dani cicca

Owner-

Dreambig

Jockey-

M Belfatto

Odds

6/1

Lear Fan x Sky Classic

A series of good showings has prompted her introduction to stakes competition.  She ran strong in her last outing (at 14f) and should like this distance even more.  Expect her to accompany TK’S DYNAMO on or near the early pace.

PP5

back flips (IRE)

Owner-

Corza3

Jockey-

B Redding

Odds

2/1

Giant’s Causeway x Tremplino

Don’t let the role of being the race favorite compel you to overlook her record on turf.  She is zero for two on the turf.  She has made twenty-five starts since her last time on grass, and both of her starts were uneventful.  She may perform well on the grass, but going into this event, she would not be one of my selections.

PP6

carsfly seattle

Owner-

Astfly

Jockey-

M Snider

Odds

9/1

Carson City x Seattle Slew

She has been testing distances greater than this event and has not handled the exams too well.  I think she is getting back to a better suited distance, and could pull off a surprise.  Expect her to be another one up near the front of the pack.  Even if she fails to handle the pace, her presence may wear down the other couple of front runners, and set up for a winning trip from a stretch runner.

PP7

Mother Lois

Owner-

Pup

Jockey-

N Plummer

Odds

9/2

Forty Niner x Sportin’ Life

Regardless of her position in this race, one should take a moment to point out the sixty nine starts and thirty-four trips in the money.  She is nearing in on the million dollar in earnings plateau and has earned a position at the table of respect.  She will find plenty of company at the front of the pack, and her recent pattern of tiring in the stretch may come into effect again.  She is a gamely performer and will not yield her position without a fight.

This race may be set up for someone like ELEPHANT (GB) to seize upon the expected battle at the front of the pace.  She likes to rally from off the pace, and this may fall into her hands.  tk’s dynamo   has the strength to carry this distance and should like getting back to this distance.  CARSFLY SEATTLE  should be one smiling broad at this distance.  MOTHER LOIS could pull a surprise and run like she has in the past.
